mike = dream stomper

it was a great weekend, weather wise too, got to open up our windows to blow some of the stink out. saturday afternoon, kaylee and i went to our local farmers market. i was hoping to find some strawberries to make a strawberry spinach salad but no such luck. i did end up buying a few pottery pieces { just giving my support to our local artists} some cantaloupe, a caramel apple for ham and some ice cream for kaylee. {after we ate a late lunch that is} now i wish i had picked up some green beans and some apples for dinner tonight. mike got home around dinner time. we spent saturday evening and most of sunday chillin' around the house. mike got the yard mowed for the week since he's out of town again. i would mow but long story short- its a real pain in da ass to push. we did manage to check out an open house that's in the same neighborhood that we want to move into. the price was awesome for being over 4000 square foot but i would want to update it so we decided that building is still our best option.

now that ham is 15.5 with a learners permit and a birthday right around the corner he has been hounding me for a car. he's been obsessed looking on-line. this is just one of those cars he would like to get.

he's got my taste for finer things in life obviously. sad to say its too old with too many miles on it for mike to even consider it. plus its a little out of our price range though ham is willing to give up all his cash to make up the difference. {we told ham we have a certain amount that we will go up to} ham then asked me how long and how many hours would he have to work to make 6 grand. mike pretty much yelled or said very sternly that "no 15.5 year old is getting a $16,000.00 car". mind you, ham was just asking and just looking. plus, if he's willing to work for the rest then i don't see what the problem is. i ended up calling mike a dream stomper which he did not appreciate. i'm sure being a step-parent is a difficult role to be in so i thought this would be a great way for them to 'bond" over manly cars- grunt like tim the tool man taylor here- and had to explain that to him. no kid is going to want to discuss anything if you stomp on their dreams right off the bat. i know from experience. i use to live with a dream stomper.
