coming to an end

August 21, 2011 second to the last night in phaeton pl.

1. we've been trying to "rough" it the past few days sleeping on a hole-y air mattress. i got a new one today.

2. we had an open house again today. better turnout- about 4 couples.

3. each had their own opinions on the house. hey, if it doesn't work then it doesn't work.

4. ate lunch at hotbox pizza for one last time.

5. then went and saw some nerd herds for one last time. i cried.

6. i have more to say about them but not right now...

7. instead of being sad, i'm trying to concentrate on the positive and can't wait to start unpacking and decorating the house.

8. i also can't wait to bake some homemade brownies and cookies and...

9. thought this was an awesome idea then i realized that i do this- just not in baskets. [but i will now]

10. i get the recipes i'm using for the week, get out the dry/can/spices needed and set aside along with the recipe. [great way to check to see what i need ahead of time]

my house is almost empty

2. but i think i will wait and get it on a iphone cover instead. [waiting for their buy 1 get 1 free sale]

3. well the packers came yesterday and started packing away. today they got a lot more done. all the bedrooms are packed and so is the basement and kitchen.

4. i think they start loading the truck tomorrow.

5. i was feeling a little sad yesterday thinking of all the comfy and familiar i'm leaving behind.

6. then kaylee comes up to me and says she's glad we're moving to texas and that its good to go on an adventure.

7. we also closed on the texas house yesterday. we now own two houses. aren't we rich? ha. hahahahahahahahahahaha! okay, had to wipe the tears away.

8. my sweet neighbor got me a chip and dip set from one of my favorite local pottery shops for a house warming present. can't wait to use it!

9. kaylee was laying on our bed this afternoon watching a little tv when ham came and jumped on it like she does to him every morning. it cracked us all up even one of the movers. [he saw her do that to ham yesterday]

10. ham was very cranky yesterday. today he was in a great mood. i love it when he's in a great mood. we actually got to talk a little bit. cherished moments.

umm yeah my mouth fell open once i saw this...

1. this is not our house. this is one of our neighbors house that i'm borrowing off our subdivisions website.

2. they won yard of the month award back in 2010.

3. we are not these type of people who owns these types of houses. [what in the world have we gotten ourselves into?]

4. our subdivision has about 2000 homes and 3 community centers.

5. the school district has 27 elementary schools, 9 intermediate and 5 high schools along with a few alternative schools.

6. packers are coming wednesday instead of thursday.

7. we are closing on the house wednesday instead of friday.

8. we're still leaving the following wednesday. unless we get word that we can move in sooner- EEEK!!!

9. found out our neighbor friend would be in the same class as kaylee.

10. when i told kaylee she made boo- boo lips, crossed her arms and said " i'm not living in texas!"

feeling like a texan, sort of

1. a dear and funny nerd herd mom got me this necklace. i feel so texan!

2. kaylee and her friend stayed up till midnight. i had to turn off the tv in order to get them to go to sleep.

3. i woke them up around 9:30 since we were going to said friend's brother's 1st birthday party.

4. it was pretty cool being that it was a brunch birthday party.

5. then we met up with nana and poppop and they took us out to a late lunch to kaylee's favorite place- olive garden.

6. then we came home and i fell asleep on the couch.

7. i seriously can not help it. my eyes get super heavy. [i know its from my allergies and other poor excuses]

8. when i woke up i felt guilty- this is how my kids are going to remember me.

9. me not doing anything productive or being active or healthy really.

10. so once we get to texas there will be no more excuses. i'm going to get back to being healthy and active.

1. today was kaylee's farewell party with her 3 best friends.

2. they got to go swimming over at my parent's house for a few hours.

3. kaylee went down the slide once and said never again. [her legs were sticking way over to side to slow her way down so she barely moved]

4. it looked like it was going to storm so we headed back home. the girls were ready anyway.

5. we ordered pizza and breadsticks and they got to eat them on funny animal paper plates.

6. they also watched alvin and the chickmunks 2. [kayleeism]

7. and ate cookies and ring pops and drank capri suns.

8. then they played for the next 3 hours.

9. one of the girls is spending the night so kaylee is extremely happy.

10. i gave each of the girls a stationary kit. it includes paper and envelopes that has kaylee's new address on them, stickers were added along with a rubber stamp that says Love, so and so, pens/pencils, glitter glue and a punch thingy.

1. she wanted to play truth and dare the other day. she picked truth so i had to ask who does she love more me or daddy. she said me! but added i have to say that.

2. i understand why she loves daddy more. he's the fun one. i still love her the same.

3. dinner out with the nerd herd was awesome as always. totally bummed we had to leave one nerd behind. such is life with kids and husband.

4. kaylee's been spoiled these past two weeks. her bff katie came over to play twice while her mom ran errands then she got to spend the whole day with neighbor friend ellie on tuesday.

5. one day out of the blue kaylee said "it's ok we're moving to texas. i know i'll make lots of friends there."

6. and while looking at photos of our future house she said "i can't wait to see the house. bet its a lot bigger in person!"

7. yesterday i pretty much slept the whole afternoon away because of my stupid allergies.

8. while i was half asleep kaylee asked if she could paint my nails and do my makeup. i told her yes. i woke up with my toes done, one hand done and eye make-up that made me look like a hooker.

9. next week the packers are coming over to start packing away our junk.

10. hard to believe in 13 days we will be headed to texas! my stomach just did a flip flop as i typed that.

random monday blabbering

1. uh oh. i think we're in trouble. just found this photo a minute ago.

2. friday, i spent the whole day cleaning. had a showing saturday and then an open house sunday.

3. no feedback from saturday and no one. and i mean NO ONE showed up sunday!

4. but that's ok, we have another showing tomorrow night and i have a good feeling about it.

5. and if nothing comes of it, it will be ok. i'm going out to dinner with my nerd herds!

6. found out our future house is bigger than both my dentist brother's and my parents. but a few hundred thousand dollars less.

7. if mom ever makes another comment about how i'm going to hate cleaning our future house i'm going to lie and tell her we're getting a house cleaner.

8. been feeling guilty that i haven't been making dinner as much as i like.

9. kaylee decided she wants both mike and i to take her to chicago so we're now going on friday instead of wednesday.

10. getting my hair done tomorrow. can't wait for a little "me" time!

5. house inspections and a few other things got me down yesterday.

6. normally i wouldn't let house inspections get to me but it sounds like the seller's ex- husband might be a butthead in getting things fixed that needs to be fixed.

7. and we're maxed out. *sigh* it will all work out.

8. started to clear out some clutter around the house. don't want the movers to think i'm a hoarder. [have you seen this show??]

9. told ham he needs to start eating all the cereal in the cupboard and he didn't complain. much. [he did say it tastes like dry cat food]

10. i'm a kid in a candy store when i know i'm getting some happy mail. patiently waiting for my erin condren planner and other goodies.

i'm bored therefore i am boring

1. this is me. i have become or maybe always have been- boring.

2. i don't feel like i always was. i was the person people called to find out where the parties were in college. i use to be the one splashing around in a rain storm.

3. being stuck in a comfort zone has made me boring. it sucks.

4. what's really getting me down is what i'm teaching my kids.

5. this was a fun phone conversation i had with my sister today.

me: want to take the train up to chicago next week to go shopping and eat lunch?

her: oh, my girls have never been on a train before. let me check my work schedule.

me: we can go whenever you're free.

her: what are we going to do? i'm free the following tuesday.

me: go to chicago, visit the american girl doll store, eat lunch, shop...

her: nope. i don't feel like going to chicago.

6. and this is not the first time that a conversation has gone this way.

7. i went and got myself a veggie quiche for dinner. it needed bacon.

8. i've watched the proposal and because i said so this week.

9. whenever i watch these kinds of movies, mike loses love points. he's at like negative 1 million.

10. i want to see the change-up this weekend. two of my favorite guys are in it!

3. but i'm not complaining. its got a pool for those hot texas days.

4. i found on pinterest the 4 seasons of texas: it's almost summer, summer, still summer and christmas

5. one of our first projects is going to be to take down the wrought iron fence. it makes the yard feel even smaller.

6. and the flower bed in front of the wrought iron fence will be moved to the side of the wood fence.

7. we have an open house on sunday. we also reduced the price on our current house.

8. debating on taking the train up to chicago for the day before leaving for texas. i'm bored.

9. bribed kaylee with american girl doll loot if she sleeps in her room till we move to texas.

10. she will get even more loot if she continues once we do move. she's doing fairly well. baby steps.

1. weekend went by kinda fast yet kinda slow.

2. don't feel like i did much but we did out of boredom.

3. kaylee spent the night over at nana + poppop's saturday. she cried as we were leaving.

4. my kids! i wonder about them...

5. ham is being his usual butthead self aka a normal teenager. i think.

6. kaylee's been begging me for a girls -only- before we move- never see them again- party. so in two weeks we will have a day of swimming, pizza eating and movie watching.

7. i'm itching for a mom's day away.

8. we got a move in date of august 26th so we will head down to spring, texas around august 24. [we're driving the land rover]

9. kaylee will miss the first week of school but we figured its just first grade and its only the first week.

10. then mike will come back to an empty house. he will have an air mattress, tv and the cat.
