road trip!

1. this photo was taken last year on our last road trip to indiana. the 3 of us had just waken up and mike was ready to fall asleep.

2. i was hoping this road trip, we could take our time but mike's already complaining that the trip took so long last year because we had to stop every 2 hours. [an exaggeration]

3. so today is cleaning and packing day because i like to return to a clean house.

4. i told ham that could be a new business- someone does all the work involved for your vacation and once you return they would unpack, do laundry, buy groceries etc.. but he said the people who could afford to hire me probably already have people who do that for them.

5. but i was thinking more for people like me who don't have people.

6. kaylee has a cookie baking class today. i planned that so we could have homemade cookies to take with us. 

7. and she's excited because she's going to have a sleep over at granny's house with all her girl cousins and get to see her bff on another day.

8. i'm looking forward to my nerd herd's reunion and mackinac island!

9. 2 days of no whining, complaining kids! [man were they on a roll yesterday!]

10. so no more blog posts till i return. it might only be indiana but its my only escape for the year so i'm taking advantage of it.

a drop-out and getting ready for our road trip

taken a month ago

1. little peanut is funny. i found these on photo booth the other day.

2. i have a summer school drop out. calculus is a hard class to be taking in a 6 week time frame. 

3. so he will take it in the fall when he will have more time to actually learn and study for it.

4. it was causing so much stress that he felt like eating 100 mcdonalds cheeseburger and if you know ham, he don't do fast food. 

5. nor does he quit anything so this was a hard decision for him.

6. he is now going back to indiana with the rest of us. his decision. i did tell him if he stayed, he had to look for a job which he was okay with.

7. so we plan on leaving tomorrow evening and hopefully make it to mike's parent's house by friday afternoon.

8. yesterday was a busy day running errands. i did get the oil changed, our phone line fixed, 2 baby gifts bought and my passport ordered.

9. today is kinda a free day so kaylee and i are heading to do some more shopping for house warming gifts. [this trip back to indiana is already putting me in the poor house with baby gifts, house warming gifts and 4 birthday gifts]

10. mike said he thinks we will be moving overseas by this time next year, the reason why i got my passport. so we will be ready to go and look at housing when its time.

the weekend

 she is SO silly! [and mike said him wearing his hat backwards and with the mitt is called something but i can't remember]

1.  ham came home for the weekend so he could go to the baseball game with us.

2. i felt super bad for him because he came home SO upset and stressing about his summer class and how much he's hating redneck texas. 

3. so being the good parents that we are, found him a tutor today and he said he feels much better. the tutor was better at explaining things than his professor.

4. guess we'll see if she's worth the money after he takes his test tomorrow.

5. saturday we went to see the white sox get beat. the score was 3-4 and the player on second base got tagged in the last inning because he was off base. such a stupid way to lose a game!

6. but we had fun anyway and mike said that was a great father's day gift!

7. today we hung out by the pool. it was super hot like 97 degrees but felt like 102 said the temperature channel.

8. ham texted me asking if i could come up and clean his apartment this week so kaylee and i are heading up there tomorrow. he's the only left in the apartment but he says its still gross from them living there.

9. then the rest of the week is spent running errands and getting stuff together for our road trip to indiana.

10. i'm still not all that thrilled to be taking a "vacation" back to indiana but it will be good to see family and friends.

kaylee is awesome

toast

1. kaylee is so stink'n cute. she wanted to surprise us and make us dinner last night.

2. she wouldn't tell us what she was making but did ask how to work the toaster and if we wanted butter, peanut butter or nutella.

3. she ran out of grapes or else we would of had more and she wanted to add some bananas but ate the last one at lunch.

4. she got really upset when mike got us fast food since i had a horrible headache. [toast wasn't enough to eat] my nose was smelling lots of yucky stuff.

5. yet 7:30pm came around and i felt an urge to go and run. i was bored and feeling antsy.

6. i only ran a mile since it was getting dark but it felt good.

7. today andre had me row 250 meters, 25 sit-ups, row 250 meters, 24 sit-ups till i got down to 5 sit-ups and the last set he had me do 10 sit-ups.

8. i ended up rowing 6500 meters and doing 325 sit-ups.

9. i'm going to be pretty sore tomorrow but its worth it. i feel slimmer today.

10. kaylee went to see epic with one of her friends so i'm enjoying a quiet house right now.

a new respect for monday's...maybe

 1. i entered this photo of ollie in the method facebook contest. i hope he wins because he's awfully cute as the easter bunny.

2.  this is the photo that ended my search for a new dog last year. we've had him for a year and 5 months now.

3. this morning started out a typical monday morning. i got woken up at 7:30AM from AT+T calling to confirm a tech appointment for this afternoon.

4. kaylee also woke me up at 4 in the morning. tonight we are having her sleep in her room instead of our coach in our bedroom. [fingers crossed it goes well, so far so good though she gets a little sad]

5. kaylee made me a bowl of cereal then we headed to costco to exchange my favorite lucky brand crops for a different size. [i wish i could say i went down a size]

6. i was surprised to see that costco even sells lucky brand and the same ones i got from the outlets! let me just say that even costco's price is 5 bucks cheaper than the on-line sale price.

7. then came home and cleaned and organized mike's closet. my anniversary gift to him.

8. then the at+t tech came and totally fixed our wireless problem. [the house is big so the wireless couldn't reach where my computer was vs. where the modem was]

9. then i fixed us a yummy bltec [bacon, lettuce, tomato, egg, cheese] sandwich for dinner.

10. then to end the fabulous day, kaylee hosted a tea party with cookies and water in a tea pot.

i decided to try cara box exchange this month and after checking out the blogs of who i will be sending and receiving goodies from, i started to wonder:

1. am i too old to be blogging?

2. AND am i too old to be doing swaps?

then i went to pinterest to give me some advice. this is what it gave me. i love you pinterest!

finding your reason

1. today is our 10th wedding anniversary. we dated 3 years before we got married.

2. i told mike not to get me anything because we spend so much money as is and we're visiting indiana in 3 weeks.  [he had 1carat diamond earrings picked out- that is 1 carat each ear]

3. he actually remembered yesterday and brought 2 dozen roses home since he had today off.

4. then he surprised me this morning with a sweet card and a 2 night stay in mackinac island when we return to indiana for a visit.

5. i'm so excited because i've always wanted to go and thought i would never get the chance since we now live in texas.

6. mike was kinda bummed ham didn't come home today. he wanted to go out to dinner or at least catch now you see me.

7. instead he got to work on the backyard- its looking awesome! with help from our neighbor friend, we went to lowes and dined on taco bell. [i was hungry for taco bell for some reason]

8. i told mike we will celebrate with a yummy dinner in mackinac.

9. andre, my trainer, asked me what the secret was to our 10 years of being married. i told him its because i don't want to go back to work. mike and i tease each other about this.

10. i think its different reasons for everyone on why they want to stay married, just got find your reason.

a mish mosh of a post

 1. today is little peanuts last day of school. she's officially a turd-grader.

2. i took her lunch and we got to eat in her classroom while watching old dr. seuss movies.

3. she got an award for perfect attendance, her AR reading shirt for reading so many books and dog tags for doing well in math.

4. i think she deserves a "graduation" gift so one day next week, we're going to get a vera bradley purse. [that's what she wants]

5. speaking of vera bradley, i got andre, my trainer,  the manliest vera bradley blanket i could find [sun valley, the blue and orange one], my favorite teas, chocolate wafer cookies and poxie sticks, my favorite wine that you can only get in michigan and a gift card to any of landry's seafood restaurants for a thank-you gift.

6. since today was my last session with him.

7. while making me do sets of 250 miles rowing then 10 push-ups for 20 mins., he tells me i have 2 more sessions left. his gift to me. gee thanks- ha! [ended up doing 100 push-ups-booyah!]

8. started reading the chaperone by laura moriarty. i stayed up till midnight reading it.  i'm not finished but its a great book! highly recommended.

9. i also got revenge wears prada, the devil returns by lauren weisberger. i'm going to try and save that one for vacation.

10.  today its hot, like sun a blazin 93 degrees hot. its suppose to rain but i'm not seeing a cloud in the sky!

what the what?

1. i want to do something like this on one of ham's bathroom wall. i took this photo at foot action the other day.

2. for those of you that are too young to know, those are cassettes. you will need to google it.

3. one day, a few weekends ago, i stayed up till 1AM working on a photo book from our trip to hawaii 2011 when i decided that i would rather print the photos and do a real album.

4. i'm almost bored enough to start painting again. i think i will start in ham's room this time. i hope my paintbrush is save-able.

5. had a great workout with andre today. i told him my butts getting too big so we need to stop doing lounges and squats. he didn't listen to me.

6. i think i'm going to go window shopping tomorrow. [i spent $8.00 today on a few snack foods for kaylee. she's begging me for snack foods!]

7. i'm ready for summer vacation and sleeping in!

8. mike came home early from work so i made him make dinner. he made scramble eggs and french toast. the only thing he knows how to make or wants to make.

9. we're discussing on what to do for our 10 year anniversary.  i told him i wanted a $700 vitamix blender. he said no, he's not getting me a blender. what the what?

10. we're thinking about visiting mackinac island for a few days while back in indiana.

just another boring monday

1. kaylee did an awesome job at her first piano recital on saturday. she got a trophy and we got her flowers for a job well done.

2. after the recital, she went to a [boy's] birthday/pool party.

3. while she was there, mike and i went flower shopping. everything at the garden center was 50% off so we got 2 hydrangea bushes, some vinca's and society garlic. oh, and another planter for a plant i bought awhile back.

4. we also decided on a creeping mytrle tree for the empty space in the back yard. this weekend our neighbor is coming over to help mike with the pavers to go around the flower beds in the back.

5. then we had to pick up little nugget for another [girl's only] birthday/pool party.

6. her little friends house was AWESOME!  i think mike was a little jealous though he won't admit it.

7.  after my walk this morning, i stayed home all day and did some cleaning.

8. got ham's bathroom cleaned since he's back at school and some of kaylee's bedroom. getting things around for that someday garage sale.

9. i hate staying home, it makes for a long and boring day.  ham's bored too since none of his roommates came back for summer school. [he's been calling asking how to clean and start the dishwasher]

10. but i'm trying not to spend any money. we need to really work on staying on budget and we plan on buying the rest of the pavers for the flower beds this weekend.
