UNCOOL:

1. its only been a month since my last hair color and roots are showing big time.

2. that peonies will not grow here in texas though i'm thinking i should bring one back with me this summer and grow it in a pot.

3. the nakedness my backyard feels since we cut down that magnolia tree.

4. eye allergies

5. having to break up with andre. told him it wasn't him but me. [my personal trainer and we have 2 sessions left]

COOL:

1. surviving 2 days in a row working out with andre. [my abs hurt when i laugh and my legs are really tired]

2. andre telling me i'm one of his favorite clients because i say some of the funniest stuff. [like how mike doesn't snore, he vapor locks]

3. watching the we're the millers' trailer.

4. e.l.f. make-up brushes. super soft and super cheap! [they're compatible to my bobbi brown brushes- thats how soft they are and 99% cheaper!]

5. i don't wear a lot of make-up when i work out but when i do, i wear this eyeliner that i got from birch box a few months ago. [i usually just put on a light eyeshadow and eyeliner to make them look bigger and a cream blush since i sweat a lot]

lessons learned

after- do you notice whats missing?

1. that before pic is the only one i could find with our magnolia tree.

2. in the after photo, the magnolia tree got cut down because mike was sick of picking up all its leaves everyday of the year. seriously, that tree shed like a sasquatch filling two large trash bags almost every other day.

3. we will definitely be planting another tree in its place because it makes our yard feel naked and to help hide our neighbor's ugly house. who knew it would create such a large, open space?

4. i had yet another fun phone call experience with my almost 39 year old sister yesterday.

5. i called her to shoot the shit as they say.

6. i could tell she was getting irritated when i told her i wouldn't have time to meet her in downtown houston today. [workout, tree guys, a/c guys then pick up kaylee, etc...]

7. then she really got mad and hung up on me because we didn't take the time out of our schedule to see her at her house last time we visited indiana. we got to see everyone at mom's house for a cookout.

8. but i guess that wasn't/isn't good enough for her. i guess i won't be calling her anytime soon or ever. [why should i if i keep getting hung up on?]

9. back to better things. andre was back and i was happy to see him. [he was out for a week due to a back injury]

10. then he had me do heavy leg lifts and stomach crunches and i wasn't so happy any more. just kidding- i was glad he was back.

lady bugs

1. i had my nail tech put a lady bug on my thumb yesterday. it turned out super cute. [she did it free hand and no, she's not asian. i am so i can make fun.]

2. garden club luncheon was good but not for the money we payed. so two of us made fun on how much the food actually cost. [it was chicken salad in two cored apples, sweet potato chips over a bed of lettuce with a clump of grapes. for dessert, it was creme brulee that was runny.

3. i am now in charge of membership- whatever that means.

4. i felt pretty today. i actually did my make-up and wore a strapless maxi dress i got in hawaii 2 years ago. i wore a top over it so i could wear a bra.

5. kaylee woke us last night telling mike he could get a total of 5 tickets and he only needed two left. [sleep walking type thing]

6. then she came back 5 minutes later and just stood there so mike asked her what she needed and she said "i just want a hug".

7. it was so cute and funny because it reminded us of when ham did the same thing around her age, asking what are the 5 things in pudding and how do you pull up carpet? [he made dirt pudding in school and we were pulling up carpet in the kitchen]

8. kinda sad ham goes back to school this weekend. its been fun having him home.

9. mike and i need to take advantage of him being home and go and see now you see me before he leaves.

10.  so glad isla fisher is back in movies again. i might have a little girl crush on her.

eating dinner outside at willies

1. kaylee has thing for flaring out her nostrils now. she loves the fact that they're so huge.

2. great 4 day weekend. got to sleep in, went for walks/runs, ate yummy food and went swimming. except for me. i haven't jumped in yet.

3. we grilled pizzas, ribs and hamburgers but not all on the same day.

4. mike and i checked out a new movie theatre called the alamo drafthouse and saw hangover part 3. it was funny but not as funny as part 1.

5. it was nice and small and they serve you food and beverages while your watching the movie. [this one was much nicer than the movie tavern]

6. mike found it funny that i ordered bbq chicken pizza, popcorn and a chocolate peanut butter shake. [he thought beer went better with that combo]

7. yesterday we decided to check out tomball's oiltime jamboree. it was a really tiny festival but they had $2.00 snow cones, face painting and pony rides.

8. i have a mani/pedi appointment today. need my nails looking all fine for my old ladies luncheon tomorrow.

9. wishing i had a all over make-over too.

10. *sigh* feeling like frump girl again.

UNCOOL:

1. having a broken air conditioner and its 90 degrees outside = super hot and sweaty inside.

2. allergies are so bad that i wake up with puffy eyes. they're super itchy and dry during the day.

3. my personal trainer hurting his back last weekend so he's been out all week. i made up my own work-out on wednesday.

4. i'm trying not to eat as much and i'm hungry : (

5. tornados in oklahoma. [really need to get my emergency kit going]

COOL:

1.  air conditioner will be fixed tomorrow and at the low price of $320 because we have home owners insurance.

2. mike and i went for a 3-4 mile walk tonight and ran 1/4 of it home. it felt pretty good.

3. my awesome neighbor playing plant fairy and bringing me some of her extras since we don't want to spend too much money on flowers since there's a chance we could be moving in the next year or so.

4. not spending any money this week except on groceries. its been hard.

5. school is almost over which is also kinda bad. i get to hear how bored kaylee is.

the weekend

kaylee and nanny at galveston beach 2013

1. went out to dinner and then to the dave matthews concert friday night. 

2. kaylee called twice crying because she didn't want us to leave. the second call i had to tell her she's 8 years old and we will be home soon. go cry for another 5 minutes then take a deep breath and see if ham will take her to the park.

3. she walked ollie and then they drew "tattoos" on each other's arms. ham might have taken her for a bike ride- can't remember.

4. dave matthews was good, not my favorite but the people watching was certainly entertaining. we had 2 very confident girls next row over, air guitar/drummer boy on the left of us, whoo-hoo every 5 minutes girl behind me and beside her, was puke boy. at least he waited till the end of the show.

5. mike's going to have as much fun as i did at the depeche mode concert. [sarcasm]

6. the pavilion was pretty cool, super close by, easy to get too and tiny. i couldn't lose mike even if i had tried.

7. saturday and sunday were spent pool side. spent about $150 on pool toys, suntan lotion and new beach towels. [they were cheap but cute $5 towels at wal-mart]

8. sunday morning, i got mad at mike for questioning my plant moving idea.

9. to show him, i ended up doing it myself and i think the flower bed looks better. he did remove the banana tree and some boxwoods for me.

10. and poor ham, he doesn't want to continue college. finds its a waste of time when he could be making the big bucks by doing his foreign trading. he just needs some investment money- any takers?

while my in-laws were here

the water was about 77 degrees- way too cold for me!

1. after my step class, i went to pick up my in-laws from the airport.

2. 5 out of 6 times [mostly my m.i.l] they have come to visit, it either gets super cold or rains. (3 days of rain was in the forecast)

3. we grilled out the first night they were here since they got up at 4AM.

4. then friday we went to a houston astros game. they lost but we got a practice ball and a nerf ball.

5. kaylee even got a baseball cap from poop poop. [thats what she calls mike's dad]

6. saturday we hung around the house since it looked a little cloudy and later played south park uno.

7. on mother's day we headed to the beach and all of us got burnt even though it was a hazy day. went to eat an early dinner at bubba gumps. then played south park uno again.

8. monday we hung around the pool since it was a gorgeous day, then went to the mall and ate dinner at pf changs. kaylee got an early dismissal on monday and one of her teachers asked her if everythings okay at home since she had two early dismissals in a row.

9. ollie loves poop poop. not even 10 minutes after they got here, he took ollie for a walk. i think from 1:00 to 9:00 he got walked 4 times. thats how it went during the rest of the visit too.

10. and of course no visit is a proper visit unless we can make fun of poop poop.  poop poop said some funny stuff like he calls our grocery store herb when its actually called HEB and then he would say dead kennedy when its really called dead kenny- from south park while playing south park uno.

blenders

1. now don't get all excited, i'm not giving away a blender. i don't make any money from my little ol' blog and no company has ever heard of me. [makes me wish i was one of those popular blogs so someone would give me one. now i feel like i'm back in high school.]

2. instead i'm going to complain on how i didn't win either blenders and how bunk that is.

3. the first blender was being given away from the pioneer woman- i'm too lazy to link up AND i didn't win.

4. the second giveaway is from sweet c's designs- again, too lazy to link up AND i didn't win that one either.

5. the reason why i'm whining is because i'm in need of a blender. i'm waiting for mine to shatter the glass as its twirling away while i make margaritas smoothies.

6. the area where the blade is, is all cracked and i can hear it grinding while its trying to blend.

7. the super crazy, whiny part- do you know how much these things cost???

8. the blendtec is about $400 and for a simple two button vitamix,  $300+!!

9. when did blenders start to cost this much?

10. better make my margaritas smoothies taste like gold for that kind of money.

 1. before ham left for school last night, we were talking about soul surfer and the cool photos on it. i said i wish i lived like that- a gypsy surfer who lives in a van and eats from a food truck.

2. ham said he wishes the same thing but he would skateboard instead.

3. kinda put a smile on my face when i realized we had almost the same dream.

4. i think it would be good for ham to take on this or any adventure but after he gets his education. so he can have a back-up plan.

5. i wonder how our lives would of been if i hadn't been so gutless and lived my dream.

6. but being homeless with no means for food or clothing kinda scares a dream away.

7. so did having a little boy to take care of. [i wanted him to have the best that i could give him]

8. then i wonder if i had gone that route, would we have been happier? [i think so]

9. because i feel there's something missing from my life.

10. and i think ham feels the same too.

hula the rock and the weekend

1. awhile back kaylee had to decorate a rock. this is my  her vision.

2. weekend was semi okay. we didn't do much because i'm trying very hard to get us not to spend money. we're super good at spending money.

3. ham went back to school so he can take his last final tomorrow.

4. i'm super proud of him. sounds like he's getting mostly A's and maybe another A or two high B's.

5. his geography teacher said that his paper was one of the best she has ever read and that he should be a writer. he hates writing.

6. we've decided to go back to indiana for our summer vacation this year even though ham won't be able to go with us. [he's got summer school]

7. i'm exciting to see my nerd herds and my bitches. [nerd herd is my mom/book club friends and my bitches are my going out to par-teee friends]

8. i have great times with them both.

9. my in-laws are flying in on thursday and staying till tuesday.

10. and at dinner tonight, we're really considering moving overseas. so much so that i'm going to get my passport for just in case last minute visits.

UNCOOL:

1. customer service. went to wendys and got kaylee a happy meal, they forgot her hamburger of all things! had to drive back and the manager didn't even apologize. he asked if i needed anything else. [i should of told him gas money]

2. the weather today. the wind is super cold and its 61 degrees.

3. that i am not on a vacation and/or there is no weekend getaway planned.

4. cleaning the pool filter only to find that its still not working and now i'm stuck home waiting for them to come and fix it.

5. negative nancy neighbors.

COOL:

1. went to bed at 11PM last night and slept like a baby. 

2. eating lunch every friday with kaylee.

3. pod cleaners. i love the pod laundry detergent and dish washer soap. so much easier!

4. trader joes. i love that place.

5. finding a texas consultant and she giving me a great deal on some stuff i ordered from here.

2. i love jeannette walls and have been wanting to read her book. i also wore the pretty bracelet to dinner last night.

3. i'm kinda in 2 pay it forwards but only going to send out goodies to the 5 people required because 10 people is a lot and while i would love too, i just don't have that kind of money.

4. my arms are so sore from my workout yesterday and today i went to step class so my legs are feeling the same. all i want to do is lay down and read that book under the sun. of course there is no sun today.

5. and of course, andre started his step challenge yesterday and i want to win.

6. too bad it didn't start as soon as i got my fitbit because i have taken 393,123 steps since april 4th.

7. ham called the other night at 11:30PM  to let me know that he might be going to chicago once school is over and before summer session starts with one of his roommates. [we would take our vacation then but kaylee still has school]

8. he wasn't very happy to hear that i didn't want to pay for his flight or give him spending money.

9. but he had a year to work and he chose not too and this isn't interning for uncle burk, this is a vacation for himself.

10. we'll see what he ends up doing about chicago and the apartment. [he likes to hold onto his money, sometimes]

i got goodies in the mail!

3. i've kinda signed up for two pay it forwards but i'm only going to send out goodies for 5 people. 10 people is a lot and i don't have that kind of money but wish i did/could.

4. today i am super sore in my arms and exhausted. i went to step class this morning and all my body wants to do now is sit.

5. but of course my gym started their step challenge program yesterday and i want to win!

6. ham called me last night to inform me that his new apartment is $200 more a month than what we had expected because he's on the expensive floor.

7. its funny to see how naive he still is about these things. he said that its fine because once he's out of college, he will be making enough money to pay it off.

8. until we told him how much he will owe after his 4 years. he got mad at me like its my fault that college costs that much. [well, he's mad because he's not sure what he wants to do. engineering is hard]

9. so mike's plan to tell him all this kinda backfired because it only made ham want to quit school even more. i think the internet brainwashed him so now he thinks he can do foreign exchange trade and make his millions in a year.

10. and interning with uncle burk last summer only feed the fire for him to make money quick.

what a workout and pretty flowers can do

1. i'm feeling much better today.

2. worked out with andre till i felt like puking. okay, only got a little lightheaded so close enough.

3. yesterday i went to a garden center and looked around for some flower ideas. even though i didn't want to spend any money, i bought this hanging basket because of the colors and it will last for more than a season if i bring it in for the winter. i also took the hook off because i wanted it go here. its by our gate by the breezeway.

4. thats an aggie gnome in the pot of asparagus ferns.

5. after my workout, i went to trader joes to buy stuff to make a huge salad. i've been told that i need to cut out carbohydrates if i want to loose weight.

6. this is hard for me because i was a swimmer and a runner and i ate whatever i wanted. granted, i was younger but exercise, eating in portions and healthy choices should help me lose weight.

7. i saw a post on pinterest that said " i want to go shopping but i don't want to spend any money". thats so totally me!

8. over the weekend we were planning  a vacation to wisconsin dells then to indiana till ham gave me his summer school schedule. he only has 1 week off over july 4th before the second semester starts.

9. so now mike's talking about going to the gulf shores in alabama. i'm thinking we should stay home to save some money. [i would rather save the money and go to hawaii next year : D]

10. plus, we live in texas where its always warm and we do have a pool. we could visit someplace nearby for a 4 day weekend if we really wanted to get away for a bit.
