wow- its almost march

1. her outfit last friday for her school's fun run. she completed all 36 laps and then some.

2. i still take outfit photos of her every school day but just too lazy to post them for what she wore wednesdays. [wsww]

3. went to my favorite local furniture store called the perfect piece and got a new end table and buffet. the end table has a crank that still works to make it taller or shorter.  photos coming soon.

4. ham came home friday and stayed till saturday. he needed more food so i had mike grill about 4 pounds of chicken, shrimp, salmon and sausages while i made potatoes and blackened tilipia, all done in an hour!

5. he said he could wait on the broccoli and asparaguts [what we call them] so i could finally stop cooking. he's generous like that.

6. saturday kaylee stayed over night at a friends house, mike and i got invited to play pool and drink over at the johnson's house. [a guy who use to work for mike in indiana and was willing to move so mike got him a job here who still works for him]

7. i think i have paint colors picked for the master bedroom and bathroom. going with a navy blue-ish for the bedroom and a purplish color for the bathroom.

8. just need to finish the rest of the painting projects i have going on but at least i have colors.

9. we lost power last night. not for very long but again, it reminded me that i really need to get an emergency kit put together.

10. we are in a hurricane zone.  our neighbors/friends said they went about 2 weeks without electricity when hurricane ike striked. [the strong winds knocked everything down]

shopping and being an elementary school rebel.

1. can't believe its friday already. i also can't believe this photo was taken one day last week.  this week its been in the low 70's,  a little chilly but sunny.

2. now if only it will stay this way for a few more months instead of getting hot.

3. my home cooking got vetoed on wednesday and we went to bdubs for dinner. thats when i told mike his birthday present because he mentioned, again, how he would like to get his mom a plane ticket for spring break.

4. but i've cooked almost all week. we had steak tips with egg noodles topped with peppered mushroom gravy last night. so good!

5. i've been good about not spending much money this week. just on groceries.

6. till i decided to go to the mall yesterday to buy some much needed unders/bras but instead i got mike 4 pairs of pants and 3 shirts for work. they were 60% off at dillards.

7. and unders/bra shopping confuses me. i don't want to pay victoria secret prices yet not sure what to get or from where? [i'm thinking aerie, they have good prices]

8. today was fun run day at school. kaylee ran all her laps-36 of them, plus more!

9. then i went to eat lunch with her and sat with her and her classmates even though i'm not suppose too.  i'm such rebel. [they have separate tables for parents/students]

10. one of the lunch ladies busted me on it but let me stay anyway. [the other lunch ladies didn't care]

brain dumping monday

1. these are my korean shoes that i brought along with me when i was adopted almost 38 years ago.

2. i wish i had taken better care of them because they're starting to crack. [they're made out of rubber.]

2. my friend's daughter is in girl scouts and they're learning about korea and she wanted a photo of my shoes to hang up. i need to get in with the group and learn too.

3. i also want to get a traditional korean dress known as a hanbok.

4. i would love for kaylee to wear one if she ever competes in a pageant or goes to prom. [she got the call back from national american miss but we already have plans]

5. ham came home thursday night and we got to see him for about an hour before he left friday night.

6. he said he might stay for the whole weekend this week but its too far in advance to commit.

7. i'm trying to make plans with mike's mom to fly her down her for her annual spring break visit. its a surprise for mike and kaylee.

8. this might come as a shock but i actually feel like cleaning house and getting some painting done.

9. i found a steam cleaner but of course its out of stock and they're not sure if or when it will come back in stock. [i want to order it from target because i have that gift card]

10. i already went to walmart this morning to return a few items.  good thing i was able to get cash back because i forgot my wallet!

happy valentine's day

1. i don't go out of my way for valentine's day. i think its a hoopla holiday and think i should let my loved ones know that they are loved everyday.

 2. this is what kaylee passed out to her classmates.  i stenciled all the kids first initial and printed the word search. she did the rest. [stamped gold hearts, be my valentine and love, kaylee on it]

3. after eating lunch with kaylee, i had mike drive me to our only dunkin donuts for some heart shaped goodies.  the weather was so nice today that EVERYONE and their mom's were out =traffic!

4. some moron came to a complete stop in the middle of the road because he wanted to change lanes. mike tapped the horn which did nothing. i blasted that thing and it made them move. bam- thats how  its done!

5. i feel kinda bad that i didn't get ham anything for valentines day. he doesn't eat donuts anymore- where does he get the will power? and the girls wanted pizza for dinner so no homemade dinner for him.

6. i took kaylee to get a mani/pedi done when mike was out of town on tuesday as her valentine's day gift and i also got her a valentine's day book.

7. and i got mike these rad socks. i posted on fb and instagram: For my valentine, I gave him the Bird. thought that was hilarious! and clever.

8. kaylee has a friend over for a sleep over. [meredith] they have been face timing each other almost every night.

9. and yesterday she had a friend come over after school.

10. major change since the beginning of the school year when she was so sad because none of her friends were in her class. 

the weekend

1. kaylee was invited to a birthday on friday.  long story short, she got to go around 4pm instead of meeting them at the movies at 6pm. [it was really disorganized but hey it worked out in the end]

2. so mike texts me and says he's on his way and for me to stay home, he has plans. 

 3. and he came home with this and told me to hop into the car,  we have reservations.

4. i guessed on the way where we headed- benihana's! [he asked me a few days before the name of the place]

5. the food was SO good and i had 2 grape escapes- vodka +moscato wine+ muddled grapes =delish!

6. by the time we got done eating and back home, it was time to pick up kaylee. [since we didn't know them, we said she couldn't stay the night]

7. saturday was a stay in jammies-chill-be really bored -kind of day. [no cleaning or organizing got done]

 9. we got an invitation in the mail to attend an open call for NAM- national american miss. kaylee really wanted to check it out so we did. she got to do a mini photo shoot and a solo interview.  now we have to wait for a phone call telling us she was one of the girls selected to do the pageant.

10.  i'm not just saying this because i'm her mom but i thought she looked the cutest with her outfit and converse.  the bad part, if she does get called, we can't do it because its the same time as our vacation. she's going to be so disappointed!]

a busy friday for my little mind

1. today was a busy day and for once i didn't feel like i had to take a nap even though i probably could of used one.

2. i've been going to bed after 11:30 thinking i would stay asleep while mike gets ready in the mornings. i've come to terms that he's just a loud person. [loud taking a shower, loud getting coffee, loud walker in his shoes, loud shutting the doors]

3. after dropping kaylee off at school, i decided that i should probably make paper goodies for the handmade valentine swap because thats what others are doing and postage would be cheaper.

4. so i took off for wal-mart since it was on the same side of town as schlotsky's. i ended up with mini pens for kaylee's valentine goodies and some chai tea and a pair of socks. its still cold here.

5. after lunch, i headed to michaels and grabbed a few more valentine themed items and a birthday present for kaylee's friend. [that's where kaylee is at the moment. they're taking 11 girls to see the new lego movie]

6. once i got home, i STILL couldn't come up with anything so i decided to bite the shipping bullet and send what i already made. hope they are worthy!

7. my beautiful purse came in today.  its got plenty of room for my planner and my big camera.  now its not waterproof but at least it doesn't scream "camera bag!" [i did not pay that much for it. i found one on sale plus i got to use my reward points]

8. i really need to clean and organize the house, again.

9. i also need to finish painting ham's bedroom and bathroom. i just need to finish painting.

10. no big plans for the weekend. just the cleaning and organizing which is okay. we/i really need to quit spending money.

boring week and i MADE dinner tonight!

1. she's face timing a friend while watching tv and coloring pictures for her "store".

2. i've been busy this week going back and forth to hobby lobby and michaels TRYING to come up with a valentine's day card ideas that i'm suppose to make for a handmade valentine's swap due tomorrow!

3. my crafting mojo is stuck in a major brain fart so i had to buy a martha stewart card kit BUT i did stain small boxes and stenciled doilies and added some chocolates and heart shaped stickers.

4. i'll take pics before i mail them out tomorrow. i really need to quit doing swaps. it costs too much and i should be making stuff for my faraway friends.

5. i finally got my personal size filofax in green and liking it though its a little small.

6. its perfect though for medical info., appointments and what i've made for meals so i can go back and see what i've haven't made in awhile. plus it will fit perfectly in my new purse that i'm getting tomorrow.

7. the big planner will stay home and be more of a journal with pretty doodles.

8. other than that, its been a boring week. 

9. it snowed this morning. even though the snow melted before noon, it was still cold! 

10. holla- i MADE dinner tonight! parmesan crusted chicken and crashed potatoes. after making it, i realized we needed something else to go with it- a salad or something green. next time.

brain dumping tuesday

1. she wore this cute outfit last monday. i bought her that skirt 2 years ago and it finally fits her tiny waist- barely.

2. friday after eating lunch with kaylee at school, mike and i had a date. he drove me to ikea and we bought some stuff for kaylee's room. [she was going over to a friend's house after school]

3. then we went to saltgrass for some steaks and potatoes. and hit target + specs liquor store afterwards. [had to buy some ingredients for super bowl sunday]

4. ham came home friday night. he had a haircut appointment saturday. went back to his apartment saturday after i fed him dinner. [korean bbq with rice]

5. while i was making everyone's plates he asked me why i was so angry. i told him because everyone was getting on my nerves! [everyone was talking to me at once which just means noise to me]

6. we went over to our neighbor/friends house for super bowl. she made SO much food! mike brought beer and i brought a drink for us girls called fish bowl. it was yummy.

7. the bad part about me not cooking, there are no leftovers for us to munch on later.

8. and how horrible was super bowl? my only highlight was watching the red hot chili peppers at half time even though they only got to play one song.

9. thats on my bucket list btw, to see them in concert.

10. i signed up for a handmade valentine swap and of course i have no idea what to make. well, i have lots of ideas but don't know how to turn it into a card.
