fun run 

1. kaylee's school is having their fundraising booster fun run today.  she already did hers. 

2. she ran for maybe 3-4 laps then walked the rest. she wasn't feeling very well last night and i think it caught up with her. 

3. being the mean mom i am, i'm waiting for the school nurse to call me instead of giving her an early dismissal which is what she wanted.

4. she finally changed into a new pair of earrings. those are donuts her cousins gave her.

5. i've been horrible in getting kaylee signed up with an after school activity.

6.  last night i was thinking that she would make a great tennis player. got to see if that will interest her.

7. she would love to take violin lessons but man are those lessons expensive. 

8. i'm wearing my new ann taylor loft shirt and new gap sweater. i kinda feel like kendi.

9. she lives near dallas so i'm wondering if she would be friends with me. 

10. if you haven't noticed, i'm also horrible at keeping my word. no sweets- yeah right, no shopping- blah, keep exercising- whatev!

few things going on here

1. kaylee was funny at the hoe down last friday. she would not look at her partner when they had to dance by themselves.

2. i got lots of compliments on her boots.

3. we got some estimates to redo our back patio.

4. but decided to wait till next year do do anything. we're going to be responsible and put whatever bonus mike gets into savings.

5. because ham's going to college. *fingers crossed*

6. though he didn't get into UT [of Austin] which shocked and disappointed us.

7. while i really want him to go to A+M, this rejection letter just wasn't a good sign.

8. so if he doesn't get into A+M, he will go to a local sister college during the summer so hopefully he can transfer in the fall. 

9. i opened my big mouth and asked mike why his mom is coming sunday to friday and not over a weekend.  well, she got her flight changed and will be here saturday to saturday over spring break. *sigh* 

10.  9 more days till spring break!

8. getting money back for our taxes. [worried we would have to pay because we got extra money for moving expenses this year]

4. i went running with mike the other night and walked 2 miles this morning.

5. i went to a local boutique yesterday and tried on some tops. looked H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E!

6. dang those mini moon pies and 2 bags of cadbury mini eggs! gained 5 lbs in the past 2 weeks!

7 so i'm going to give up cookies, cakes, ice cream, donuts, brownies, cupcakes, pies and candy for lent. since i'm not catholic, i'm starting tomorrow. [got to squeeze in a banana split first : ) ] 

8. i think this is the sweetest post and it made me teary-eyed. [reminded me when mike was traveling quite a bit for work and kaylee crying for him not to go]

9. found a new to me blog. i love her style and her hair!  not fair i tell you. no fair. though its funny to read how it translates to english.

10. also found out my parents are moving to arizona in their mobile home for a while. [the warmer weather helps my dad's headaches and its closer to vegas where he gets his treatments]

1. i let kaylee take a personal day yesterday.

2. she got to sleep in then we went to target to buy candy to smuggle into the movie theatre. [we were going to see this movie]

3. then she asked for a toy so i said toy or movie. she chose a barbie and an outfit for barbie.

4. i was proud of her because she asked for a sophisticated outfit. of course there wasn't any. please tell me if you have ever seen a nurse wear 3 inch heels? [she really did say sophisticated]

5. then we went to charming charlies to look at some accessories. she got a new shirt and some hair stuff while i got 2 cardigan type things.

6. then we went to pf changs for lunch. 

7. then we came home and she played with her barbies while i read blogs.

8. then i did her nails.

9. i wanted her to have a special day. she's getting SO big and i want her to have some great memories.

10. the whole time she kept saying " i love you mommy! this is probably predictable but i love you"

1. another lame weekend.

2. though we did try a new restaurant friday and ordered more pizza saturday and ate mexican on sunday. [so much for not spending]

3. it just means this week will be full of foods my family didn't want to eat over the weekend. [tonight its homemade bbq pulled pork sandwiches with homemade french fries]

4. i found stubbs bbq sauce at our local grocery store, hope its just as good as the restaurants and i wish i could find my potato wedges recipe to share. its better than the pioneer woman's and you know how much i love her recipes!]

5. took ollie to the vet this morning for some booster shots. he weighs a whooping 5 lbs.

6.  i also went on a 2 mile walk. it felt great!

7. saturday and sunday i watched lots of harry potter movies [great movies!]  and finally caught something borrowed. the book is much better. [i didn't think kate hudson was very good for this movie]

8. mike says i can go anywhere for a weekend as my birthday gift. where too is the question?!

9. exciting news for me: a h+m store and a trader joes is opening soon near me!

10. i glanced over at kaylee yesterday and my heart started to hurt. she's just getting SO BIG and before we all know it, she will be wearing make-up and driving.

1. i'm trying to get some color into my rather bland house one rug at a time.

2. i made myself a hair appointment yesterday. i had a groupon to use. for an $80 cut, deep conditioner treatment and style i payed $36.

3. so yesterday the only money out of my pocket was the tip. the guy was awesome! [my first guy hairstylist and my first asian hairstylist]

4. i even recreated the style this morning though my hairs a little frizzier. why is that? i used products.

5. before heading out the door for the appointment, i noticed a snag on my butterfly shirt. good thing because i had my shirt on inside out. now that would of been embarrassing!

6. and i didn't leave myself any gas. oh why am i so lazy?

7. tonight is kaylee's open house. she's super excited and think she might have convinced ham into going. [she gave him sad puppy eyes and boo boo lips. we will see if it worked]

8. we ordered pizza last night for dinner from a new place. everyone liked it! still not as good as the pizza places in elkhart.

9. my luck of having a good dog finally ran out- knew it would. he's been pooping in the same spot in the house so i put his food and water bowls there. they say that dogs don't like to sleep or eat where they go.... fingers crossed they're right.

10.  and fingers crossed my infectious bump under my eye lid is gone so i can start wearing contacts again. glasses full time suck!

1. so valentines day was a great one. kaylee got us stuff from her room and gave us ollie.

2. my favorite people from indiana sent us happy valentine's day mail. 

3. i got a huge package of cock soup! which made me laugh out loud and kaylee wondering what was so funny.

4. i got ham a bracelet, kaylee a blanket we've had our eye on and mike cologne. [ham's not sure about the bracelet]

5. mike got me a bouquet of flowers that's in a container that holds photos and kaylee an arrangement that has candy and a balloon in it.

6. the only reason why we celebrated valentines this year was because of kaylee. her excitment was contagious!

7. i made chicken parmesan for dinner and two turtle cheesecakes. one to give to a friend but this morning found a huge chunck taken out of it. HAM!

8. san marcos was awesome and it was cool to reminisce the good ol days.  [we all knew each other but never hung out]

9. the person who doesn't need clothes got the most, of course. hard to pass up 75% off!

10.  and i got this rug for a steal from crate and barrel. its got a hole in it but nothing that couldn't be covered up.

happy valentine's day

1. i'm a genius! i finally figured out how to make my photos larger on my blog. [in my defense, i'm in a new format]

2. these were the bookmarks we made for kaylee's class since they are not allowed to pass out candy.

3. i made two turtle cheesecakes for valentines day. hope one didn't burn though it seems to smell like it.

4. i also got my hand stuck in the mixer while it was on! DOUBLE OUCH!

5. now i'm headed out to find some valentine's gifts for the kiddos.  i don't like giving out too much candy since we eat enough junk.

6. my girls weekend was awesome! will share more later though it was pretty mellow.

7. i also came home to a super clean house. the husband CAN clean better than me and i will let him.

8. we've been eating breakfast for dinner a little lot more often since moving here. made the pioneer woman's biscuits and gravy with sausage and her eggs benedict though i just made sunny side up eggs rather than poaching. also some cheesy scrambled eggs for the little nuggets.

9. ugg- need to pay bills. hate paying bills.

10.  also have my lady bug garden club flower arrangement workshop tomorrow. i have nothing for it. no flowers or vase or idea! [they will get judged next week]

1. kaylee seemed a little bummed last friday night so i drew this after she went to bed to find in the morning. she loved it and tried to copy it all day. it now hangs in her room.

pretty lights in san antonio

1. i think trees with lights should be a year round thing. 

2.  i'm hoping mike and i can get smart enough to decorate our outside trees for christmas this year. [not likely though]

3. sorry for the horrible tiny photos. my flickr account is almost to the max unless i upgrade.

4. came home with a box of mini moon pies. i ate 5 of them last night.  and maybe one this morning. [banana flavored]

5. and i bought 7 boxes of girl scout thin mints. i put 4 of them in the freezer outside in the garage hoping ham doesn't find them. hmm... wonder where he gets his sweet tooth from? and his inability to just eat a few...

6. i'm going to meet up with two girls from high school on saturday in san marcos. going outlet shopping and whatever else we can find to do and sunday tour one of the girl's son's campus.

7. i've been talking myself out of it but i'm sticking to my guns and going because i always whine and complain i have no one to hang out with.

8. i've banned kaylee from after school snacks. monday she complained because she doesn't like fish, tuesday she complained because she doesn't like lasagna but last night she ate all of her beef stroganaff.

9. tonight we're having her favorite "chicken and ducklings". [i've altered some of the ingred. if you want my recipe, just email me]

10.  i found two perfect paintings for the front entry. one is of some red flowers for a $100+ bucks or the other is cartoony man and women exercising or dancing for $730. guess which one i like better?

SOOOO bored

1. sad but that chocolate chip muffin wasn't very good.

2. yesterday i was SOOOOO bored. the only unboring part was eating lunch with baby girl. [ended up with schlotzsky's deli turkey bacon club and a cheese pizza for baby girl]

4. think i found a new bakery and its just right down the road. the price is much better for a cupcake. [i got 2 for the price of one from that other bakery]

3. i'm eating leftovers right now even though its not even lunchtime. i have to go to the grocery store and figure i should eat so i don't buy unwanted stuff.

4. i made seared tilapia and my favorite potatoes last night.  super easy and super delish! 

5. of course i made it without the watercress and mangos because my family does not have a very sophisticated palate. i did make the dressing but as a side. [i'm the only one that liked it and i like my fish to be a little crunchy so i cooked it longer]

6. i was SOOOO bored yesterday that i went for a 10 minute run this morning. it felt good.

7.  ham's SOOOO bored right along with me- we're both considering getting jobs. [part time for me of course]

8. baby girl didn't want to go to school this morning because she has computer lab. i told her don't let a 30 minute class ruin her whole day. fingers crossed today is going well.

9. kate spade is having a 75% off sale right now. my "i need a vacation" hat is only $25.00- so hard for me to resist...would i even wear it? yes, around the house when the family gets annoying!

10. watched giuliana and bill last night- they make me giggle. and tonight parenthood is on.  still love him.

sad the weekend is over

2. i didn't feel like packing baby girl lunch so i'm going to eat lunch with her today. [not sure what to get us though]

3. she lost another tooth last week. then really lost it as in we can't find it to place under her pillow.

4. my mom's day was awesome and i got another half a day on saturday. 

5. mike and kaylee had a daddy/daughter date. they went to a place called itz and stayed for 3 hours!

6. finally saw julie & julia. [went and bought it] it was a good movie considering i couldn't get into the book.

6.  read moloka'i instead of watching the superbowl. highly recommended readers and breeders!

8. also highly recommended is this candle in creme brulee. smells up the whole house nicely.

9. it would of been super cool to have gone down to indy for the weekend and been in the action of all the superbowl hoopla.  

10. ollie is growing on me though life is much easier without a dog.

[thursday] love...

 its hard to tell in this awful iphoto but thats ollie and kaylee all tuckered out. i gave her kisses and not one body moved.

1. tomorrow i'm taking a mom's day and forcing mike to babysit ollie. yes, babysitting because he was my idea after all.

2. converting mike into a spaghetti lover because of these meatballs.

3. treating myself to a banana fosters and an italian cream cupcake today. [ate only half of each, saving the other half for later to enjoy with a cup of tea]

4. having a great friend send you a "misery loves company" email making you laugh out loud and shake the blues.

5. using my imagination and buying a half priced candy bar just because the wrapper was cute. going to frame it and use as christmas decor.

6. being put on a waiting list to do this.  i hope its at a time where i can go. i want to see her house so badly.

7. finding that if you put a dirty sock with the dog in his crate for night night, he stops whining, howling and barking. [i told kaylee its because the smell of her feet totally knocks him out. it knocks us all out actually]

8. getting a $150 gift card to lowes [from my credit card rewards points] going to redo some of ham's bathroom with it. [paint, new light fixture]

9. being shown on to put on eyeliner so i don't have to wear mascara on a daily basis anymore. [thanks marykim at the bobbi brown counter]

me and my great ideas

1. so i went and got us a puppy. kaylee's been begging for one and i thought  it would be a great idea!

2. his name is oliver but you can call him ollie.

3. at first i wanted an english bulldog and kept searching on-line only to come up empty handed. lots of scammers out there.

4. while searching on-line [that's how i got the fostering idea] this little guy's photo showed up.

5. and while reading his bio- he kept getting more perfect. about 5 months old which means he was over the ankle biting stage, he was neutered which means he would be a little calmer, he was being potty trained and this is the biggest he will ever get.

6. he's been a great dog ever since! he's got the cutest face ever and he just wants to be LOVED on.

7. mike and kaylee love him and i think ham's coming around.

8. i do have to get use to having him at my feet though. i've kicked the poor guy a few times already.

9. whatever room i'm in, he's right there.

10. and again, this has made me see that i am not a pet person. i love animals but they are just not for me no matter how cute and snugly.
