what's up wednesday

1. our second family car that ham gets to drive as long as he never ever gets into trouble again. its a manual so he's been practicing around the neighborhood since he's still grounded. he did get a few privileges back.

2. if you click on the photos, it should make them really large and there you will see the smile on ham's face. not that he's an unhappy teen but its rare to see that much excitement from him. and yes we made him pose like that in the first pic.

3. haven't been getting much done this week but this time not by my own doing. my sister surprised us with a visit and krispy kreme donuts on monday. krispy kreme donuts are evil! and she's trying to keep me from losing my 2lbs a week. and yesterday she came over and spent the whole day with us, then took kaylee home with her to entertain her two daughters.

4. my girls trip to ikea has been postponed till may. i have a feeling it will be one of those things that never gets executed so i will have my short list ready and may just take off on a whim.

5. i had an "aha" moment yesterday and then felt sad+disappointed that some things + some people will never change.

6. i entered another photo in the pioneer woman's green photo assignment. yep, using the little nugget when she was a little nugget just to get a mention!

7. i know. i need to get more photos onto my flickr page. i have tons!

8. last friday after seeing these boys with their stylish haircuts had to get mine done. they're still more stylish than me.

9. i'm still OBSESSED with everything emersonmade! i want her to come over and decorate my house and style my clothes everyday.

10. i've been very bad with homemade cooking lately. our evenings has just been busy.

7. i'm still craving homemade fajitas, guacamole +salsa. they never got made over the weekend.

8. i'm not sure how it all works out but once we get a second car, our insurance will be cheaper. {multi-car discount}

9. i had a brain fart the other day. remember me mentioning that i had material to use for that small bench and window in the front entry? well i went looking for the material only to remember 5 minutes later that i still haven't trimmed the window curtains that will give me the extra fabric. DUH!

10. i wish we had a chipotle in town. would order a fajita burrito with everything in it.

long winded sunday

1. so this is my entry way when stepping inside the front door and and looking over to the left. i really don't know what to do with the space. {1. before shot; 2+3. what it is now}

2. the bench will get reupholstered with different fabric. i've been searching for the right fabric to use because whatever i use on that will also be used as nearby window treatment. {the other night i finally came up with the fabric- yeah me!}

3. man i live in the boringest town. i was so antsy yesterday but stayed home. secretly got mad at mike because him and his buddy brent went out while i got to babysit his buddy brent's daughter which really wasn't a big deal since she and kaylee got along like awesome!

4. last night i heard buddy brent puke his brains out. it was gross. today i get "worthless mike". good thing i had nothing on my honey-to-do list for him.

5. oh! we found a car for ham. kaylee, mike and i went to olive garden for lunch on friday and on our way just happened to drive by a car lot. and there she was. almost everything ham has been looking for and the right price/mileage for us.

6. he had to agree no illegal behaviors or else the car is ours and we will never buy him a new one again.

7. he agreed of course. lets just hope he stands by his word. i think he will. he will have a "new baby" to take care of and to show off.

8. buddy brent + his daughter, neve, just left. left kaylee crying because she now wants a nintendo ds. i told her thats something she will have to wait for her birthday or christmas. with boo-boo lips and tears streaming she said her birthdays too long. {too far away}

9. i've had my eye on this dress for awhile and finally bought it since it was on sale only to find out they no longer have it in my size. {i bought it a size larger and will just get it altered. i hope}

10. my mom called me yesterday from her cruise ship while waiting for it to take off. she said i have two weeks to get a couch out of her house that i've been wanting. {she finally got my dad to agree + she's got some chairs she's buying to put there.}

nothing much friday

1. the frame i bought the other day. i'm still going to change it into a mirror. the owner of the local boutique i bought it from made it. its much prettier in person.

2. yesterday i got nothing done, again. why does running errands take longer when a 5 year old little nugget is with you?

3. my poor mom! she's complaining because she has to pack for 17 days of vacation. i'm calling the wambulance on her.

4. my girls trip to ikea is back on. used a friend that moved close to canton, michigan as my bribe. how can they say no to seeing an old friend?

5. so my antibiotics and nose spray is not working at all. ugg!!!! and the antibiotics is making me feel ill.

6. not much planned for the weekend. there's lots to do around the house of course but what fun is that?

7. do want to reorganize the closets, finally paint my bedroom and maybe switch hamilton to kaylee's room, if he agrees. {i think her room is bigger and he might as well use it since she isn't}

8. we ate at one of my parents establishment last night. kaylee went to sit with her cousins only to be brought back to our table. once she saw daddy she started crying that she wanted us. {and my parents wanted to take her to florida for a week!}

9. kaylee doesn't have school today. teacher in service day or something like that and its mike's day off. *sigh* there goes my quiet house time.

10. nothing seems to be inspiring me lately. i think i'm waiting for permanent spring weather.

1. i am in love with this couple. they are ryan and emerson from emersonmade. i love their shop and their house, want to know more about them. i want to hug them too. are they not the cutest couple? {via design sponge + hooray and many other blogs}

2. bought a really cute picture frame for the front entry that i would like to change into a mirror. not sure if i'm going to keep it there because i have some previous- already -there holes that it doesn't cover.

3. bought kaylee a cute heart bikini from baby gap yesterday. i think she likes it too considering she's been wearing it ever since we got home. she even slept in it under her night gown and tried to wear it under her dress for school.

4. i would love to travel solo for a year once kaylee gets out of high school. just hope i'm not using a walker by then. {inspired by this movie, first seen movie trailer here} i have yet to finish the book.

5. depressed because i just found out how old i will be when kaylee does graduate.

6. so jealous yet so happy for my blogging friend, jisoo. she found a house in hawaii!

7. still looking for a job for mike in hawaii but its not looking good.

8. which makes me wonder: does that make me a hypocrite? mike works in the oil industry yet i want to save the oceans? and i drive an suv.

9. watched dancing with the stars the other night. the lead singer of the pussycat dolls is super annoying to me for some reason. even worse than kate gosselin.

tuesdays 10

1. kaylee and i like 5 minutes ago. i had her wearing something else but when she saw what i was wearing wanted to wear her shirt too.

2. we are headed back over to the big mall to return clothes that i bought 2 weeks ago for hamilton that he doesn't like and hopefully pick up another pair of jeans mike does like.

3. i know. i lead such a tough life.

4. mike finally apologized this morning for saying he cleans better than me.

5. he cleaned for 2 hours last night, i think to prove a point. i told him " you do clean better than me so i think you should just keep doing it." he didn't find that very funny.

6. had a little chat with ham on our way home from school yesterday. he is not giving me any hope and he's really ruining his chances of getting any type of freedom back. where did i go wrong? why doesn't he care?

7. yes, he's causing a lot of internal stress right now. and guilt. and regrets.

8. my parents leave for a cruise this week then they come back to go to spring break with my oldest brother aka the golden child and his family.

9. since they won't be here for my day of birth, i got my present early. some cash to spend on whatever i want! niiiiccceee!

10. i need a girls vacation to someplace warm please!

my no life monday

1. i want a room that looks like the one in the top photo. LOVE it! {via full house}

2. i'm so lost right now on how i want to finish decorating the house. most rooms are half way done. wish i could hire some decorating help.

3. i've got money to spend on decorating but don't want to spend any of it. weird huh?

4. yesterday was spent in bed. i felt yucky from my antibiotic that i took in the morning. i'm thinking i didn't eat enough before taking it.

5. but that's ok because i'm still on my house cleaning strike.

6. we got no snow over the weekend- holla!

7. mike made his beer yesterday. the house smells like it from what i can smell.

8. ham got a little taste of freedom yesterday and got to drive himself to a friends house to get some homework. {he had 15 minutes}

10. i canceled my day of birth girls trip to ikea because my friends have important things and a life to tend to unlike me. might ask my sister if she will go with me again. she likes to ignore her important things and she doesn't have a life either.

2. had an awesome day today. met up with some friends for breakfast at the farmers market, did a little bit of shopping.

3. went over to some friends house for an AWESOME dinner. then the husband had to claim that he can clean the house better than me so now he has house cleaning duties. i am officially on strike.

5. ham was left home by himself but i made him answer the home phone whenever i called. {to make sure he stayed home. i'm only sharing these ideas to help those who will soon have a misbehaved teen}

7. i'm signing kaylee up to play soccer in the fall with the concord youth soccer league. anyone can join as long as they are 5 or older. {hint hint michelle}

yeah friday!

1. kaylee chose this photo. its payback plus she wanted to show off her "tattoo's". please ignore my fatty neck. i feel like kimora but not as pretty. {i think it was on her show how she has a fat neck}

2. i feel like i'm 5 minutes behind today. so glad its friday even though its going to be a cold weekend.

3. twilight/new moon night got canceled. my co-host is sick.

4. got a call from ham this morning to bring him different jeans. they had holes in them. he's been wearing them a year and they say something now???

5. kaylee requested eggs, bacon and toast for breakfast so thats what she got.

6. she's always telling me to "snap out of it woman!"

7. no plans for the weekend which is ok by me. i just feel like vegging and napping.

8. or maybe we'll get ham some new jeans minus holes.

9. today is my mom's birthday. i think she's 59 or 61. i can't remember if she had my oldest brother when she was 18 or 20. he was born on their 1 year anniversary.

10. my parents are thinking of opening another restaurant. this will be restaurant number 5.

kaylee rocks! ham, not so much at the moment

1. another iphoto of kaylee and i from yesterday. we had just gotten back from seeing my brother, the dentist.

2. kaylee had a small cavity near a tooth that she had chipped. obviously i found her lopsided and puffy face to be HILARIOUS!

3. normally my brother does not give out candy at his office but kaylee was SO good that they made an exception. my brother said she didn't even flinch throughout the whole process.

4. i talked to her about it before the appointment telling her that it will be loud, she will feel a pinch and just to relax and breath and close your eyes if you want too. i think she does really well when i have these pep talks with her.

5. i love day light savings time. i love that it can be 7pm and its still light out.

6. we walked around the pond twice yesterday. got to see turtles and the koi fishes.

7. i started taking my meds. slight improvement but its only been 24 hours.

8. mike agreed to my garden plans. {he really doesn't care what i do as long as it makes me happy}

9. ham is not talking to me. he has been grounded from everything and its only been 6 days. i take and pick him from school, no cell phone, no friends over, no xbox. he asked to buy one the day after getting into trouble. i told him no, he needs be thinking about the bad choices he's been making.

10. i feel sad for him but he did this to himself.

random wednesday

1. kaylee and i from our trip to the toledo zoo. really wish a miracle would happen and i would wake up with beautiful hair.

2. today is going to be a beautiful day. so is tomorrow.

3. instead of me cooking last night, mike suggested we order pizza for dinner. one of the guys that works for him did come over. {mike said it will give me more time to clean if i didn't have to cook. like the house was a mess or something}

4. i'm afraid to take my prescription meds. {an antibiotic and nose spray} because of all the side effects they can cause.

5. lowes just came to my front door saying they were here to install a new dishwasher. it was for the old homeowners. they must of forgotten to give them their new address. i should of told them "come on in!"

6. i'm procrastinating paying bills. nothings due but it still needs to be done. *ugg*

7. my car finally reached the 100,000 mile mark. my car is a 2001, we bought it in 2004. and i still love it! {its amazing what new tires can do- it still feels like i'm driving a new car}

8. still working on my craft project, will share once its finished. its nothing grand, just funny. i think.

9. with the warmer temps, i would love to get my two side tables painted.

10. and i would love to build a garden bed. grow some lettuce, peppers, tomatoes...

7. my dad gave me a compliment last night. he said that i turned out to be the best cook in our family. {not sure how much of a compliment that is considering who i'm running against but i will take it. i love my papa!}

8. got lots to do today. going to target to fill my prescriptions, grocery store to try a new recipe tonight and clean the house. mike is wanting to invite one of his workers over for dinner or at least to come and see the house since its been over a year.

9. i have a crafty project i would love to do too today.

i CAN. NOT. wait to see this movie. i am an ocean girl. whenever i watch the trailer, i get misty eyed because i'm so fascinated and in awe. my heart beats take my breath away. i wanted to be a marine biologist in high school. now i would love to be the one filming these videos.

long winded monday

1. another iphoto of kaylee and i from the other day because i'm too lazy in getting my camera to download pics from dinner saturday night. ignore her brown smudges on her face. she ate pudding i think.

2. today is mike's birthday. i have nothing for him. he went friday and got his beer making stuff. i'm thinking of going to our local bakery and buying him a chocolate cake even though he's not a cake person. but i am.

3. mike's mom was surprised with her kindel and she loves it! {score points for me cuz it was my idea}

4. made lasagna, the pioneer woman's olive and garlic cheese bread, and salad for dinner last night and it was super yummy. mike said that was the best lasagna i have made yet. he's not a lasagna fan. the olive bread was to die for and i'm not an olive fan.

5. speaking of the pioneer woman, she didn't chose my cat photo. i swear she doesn't like me.

6. weekend was good considering. friday went over to friends house and had a delicious meal. the evening got cut short because of my teen age son who has not been making the best choices in the past year. {tears on saturday for me}

7. i asked ham if he can behave during the 10 minutes he waits for me to pick him up after school. he didn't find that too funny yet as i was saying this a cop car with flashing lights pulled up right behind me. then the cop ran into the school. i drove away slowly waiting for my cell phone to ring...*sigh of relief* so far no phone calls

8. makes me want to homeschool kaylee.

9. kaylee had her bff over after school last wednesday. they sure were giddy when i went to pick them up. it was super cute- they sang, danced, dressed up, had a chocolate chip cookie for a snack and played with dolls. they did end up fighting over a toy but made up and played some more. we then took them out to dinner at bdubs {short for buffalo wild wings} and ice cream at flavor freeze before taking katie home.

10. not doing so well on the "lose 2lbs" a week thing but its still early.

will someone who is NOT lazy, make me this?

feeling sorry for myself again

and today is one of them. *ok now i feel better. i cried, took a shower. all is good!*

what's up friday?

1. kaylee and i playing around with iphoto. she was trying to cover up my face but i ended up getting her instead.

2. ears, nose, throat doctor went well. told me i have some swelling and polyps and he gave me some antibiotics and nose spray which could help some.

3. yesterday i decided that i am going to lose between 8-10 pounds before my day of birth. its about 2lbs a week. i think i can... i think i can...

4. mike and kaylee are off to her field trip to cici's pizzeria.

5. ham is thinking about going out for golf club at his school.

6. from my girls weekend, i bought some mac makeup and really love them! they actually stay on my very oily face especially my eye shadows and eyeliner. no smudges!

7. decided to get mike home beer making stuff so he can brew his own beer for his birthday present. he's going shopping for the stuff today.

8. tomorrow night we are going to hani yori's for their birthday dinner. we go every year for the past 9 years. i introduced his family to the place. {their being mike and his mom and its a japanese teppan place where they cook the food right in front of you}

9. i'm working on the motivation to trim + sew/bond my curtains from ikea. i've had them for at least a month now.

10. it looks like eeni, meeny, miney + moe are back swimming in our pond again. {baby ducks from last year except they are fully grown now. i think its them from their blue feathers. will need to investigate}

wishing

1. taken when we had a 2 hour delay last week (?)

2. kaylee did awesome at her dentist appointment and said it was fun. we definitely need to brush her teeth better though.

3. i had a 10oz garbage burger, 1 krispy kreme donut and half of a footlong sandwich yesterday. i was in a food coma by bedtime. {i ate the whole burger!}

4. i wish my bills could be paid by the year and the same with stocking up on cleaning supplies, toilet paper etc... all done by the year.

5. i still feel enlightened after my girls weekend though its causing some conflicts in my brain.

6. i cry because this should be me! {dream job living in dream location}

7. i have an ears, nose, throat appointment tomorrow. fingers crossed they find something or nothing and that it is my diet causing all my problems.

8. its suppose to get up in the 60's today. i don't mind the rain with temps like that!

toledo zoo

saturday when mike failed me and came home empty handed from running in the morning he decided to make up for it by taking us on a road trip. {he was suppose to have come home with some chocolate croissants} if you check out the toledo zoo website you can print out a coupon for 50% off. i think its good till march 19th? the drive was a quick 2 hours. {we quickly packed snacks and video game for kaylee}

it was pretty chilly so we didn't get to see all the animals or all the sites but it was

still neat. we got to see the seals swim by.

and mr. polar bear be all cute. later he started playing in the water with his barrel. they even had a train ride and merry go round for the kids.

we even got to see the penguins, cheetahs and a very large hippo. we chose not to check out the reptile building. we are not fans of snakes.

the zoo was larger than we though and it was very well done. they had play areas for the kids, a theatre area and an aquarium besides many places to eat. we would love to go back once the weathers warmer to see the animals outside and with all its pretty trees and greenery. it reminded me of a cedar point but without the rides.

after a few hours at the zoo we decided to eat an early dinner at pf changs. it turned out to be a regular dinner since we got lost and there was an hour wait. we went shopping while waiting. the place was called the shops at fallen timbers. it was a beautiful shopping plaza and i wish i had gotten some pictures. they had a pond with a sitting area and most of the shops where outside. we would of stayed the night but we have a certain teenage boy who we do not feel comfortable leaving home by himself over night. we ended up getting home by 9:30 so the old man still got plenty of rest.

addicted

2. this was taken saturday. the people around us got a kick seeing kaylee with this gigantor piece of chocolate cake. and i have to be "r" rated here but it was the most delicious, almost orgasmic, most decadent, choc-o-riffic cake i have ever had and worth every penny.

3. we did a spur of the moment road trip to the toledo zoo on saturday. more on the zoo later but must say it was awesome!

4. this week is a busy one for me, besides my regular schedule kaylee and i have a dentist appointment on tuesday and i have an ears,nose, throat appointment on thursday. friday is kaylee's field trip but i'm hoping to get mike to go instead.

5. i think all retailers on-line should offer free shipping no matter what when your order is over $100.

6. the warmer weather is making me happy yet feeling more cabin feverish. still not warm enough for me to go and hang outside.

7. book 3 out of 4 is finished. today i go and get the 4th twilight book.

8. found an old college acquaintance on facebook. it was great to see that he has he same sense of humor as he did back in the day. {no i did not friends request him}

9. i love funny people. i love being around happy, funny people. it makes me want to be happy too.

10. so last friday i ending up coloring my hair a blackish/brown color. looks so much better and now i can quit tweezing all the white ones out.

1. i entered this photo in the pioneer woman's feline contest. it probably won't win jack but i thought it was cool. i was there at the right time. the next photo after this, his heads down sleeping. so cute.

2. we got a two hour delay from school because of some "frog". too bad the "frog" can't stay and ham has no school.

3. i think i'm going to color my hair today or this weekend. need to wash that gray right outta my hair. remember the commercial? some of you might be too young for that one.

4. not sure if i'm all that excited to watch dancing with the stars now that i know who's going to be on it. {haven't we seen enough of her kate gosselin???} i think lance bass should of won for this performance but they didn't do it as their final dance.

5. i'm craving for a pizza. since last night. the good kind, not pizza hut or papa johns.

6. finished two out of four books of the twilight series.

7. even though i don't feel old, seeing my kids get older is making me realize that i am that old. and now i'm left wondering where did all those years go?

8. so we got my mother in law a kindel for her birthday. its a day after mike's. we're splitting the cost with the father in law. its the perfect gift for her really.

9. had a great evening wednesday. after dinner hamilton graced us with his presence for an hour or so even though all he did is bug us for a car that he found on-line that's $4000 over our maximum budget. ham makes weird noises when he's making fun of us and he made one similar to chewbucca and i called him out on it. it was super funny!

10. nothing too exciting going on this weekend. oh my little city...how i really don't like you.

this is my dining room. and this is where i am needing a new light fixture. i've been living with the wires hanging for almost a year now come may. i really love the way the dining room has turned out. it was a room i didn't have to paint either. gotta love that!

its hard to tell but the curtains match perfectly with the room. its got a little bit of the wall, table and mustard yellow colors in it. {in the hutch, i painted the shelves a mustard yellow and then covered the backing with black and white scrapbooking paper.}

anyway, i really love this light fixture from ikea. up close it looks like its made out of paper or some sort of really thin plastic. i love it and i love the price. under 100 bucks.

then i saw this fixture on a blog somewhere- sorry! can't remember whose.

and i love it too. this one's made out of metal, found on an etsy shop and it's on sale. i think it might be too small for our dining room and i am waiting to hear back from the seller but don't think thats going to happen. she would of emailed me by now i think. i'm thinking of buying it anyway and if its too small for the dining room maybe i will put it in my bathroom.

weird wednesday

1. taken this morning. she's a funny girl. last night she got on her jammies and said, "booah got confused with me and alex, he thought i was her because we look alike."

2. booah is our pesky cat and alex is her american girl doll named after alex on wizard of waverly place.

3. ever wake up to mixed emotions? that's been me all week and its only wednesday. not that i don't appreciate my life but wish i had known what i wanted when i was younger and now i'm sad that my life is not at its full potential. {does that make sense?}

4. i made it through 75% of the book yesterday. today i'm going to pick up the 2nd and 3rd one to have on hand. they're an easy read. {the twilight series}

5. i'm craving for a fruit smoothie. i ran out of frozen fruit last week and forget to buy more. ice and fresh fruit is not the same.

5. been trying to work on this blog, getting it look all purrdy again but now i can't even get the font to change. grrrr!

6. kaylee and i played salon again yesterday. it was awesome! i painted her toes and fingers then she did my toes and my hair while i got to read. bad mom huh?

7. and yes, i have about 10 pounds i would love to lose! i just wear clothes that hide/or lessen the muffin top.

8. yeah! i should be getting this stamp and this stamp any day now. how awesome of bryn to donate $15.00 to haiti in my name.

9. and i'm really tempted to order a necklace from here or maybe just a charm with my initial on it or maybe the kids. i can't make up my mind. {i've posted about them before}

10. 12 days till the husband turns 33. w0000 33! {sarcasm} anyway, no clue as to what to get him.

chatty mood today

1. last thursday i told kaylee that we should be getting some happy mail. boy was she happy and surprised when the mail lady said it was for her!

2. keira from keira's adventure sent her some goodies- she's chomping on the gum in the pic., lots of stationary to send out mail with and a pretty calendar. kaylee loved the chandelier card too.

3. what was really neat was the interest kaylee showed with no prompting from me. she wanted to know what keira looked like, how old she was and where did she live. {i think they would be great friends if we lived closer. i know her mama and i would be :O)}

4. i am still recovering from the lack of sleep from the weekend. this morning, mike's alarm went off at 4:30. will i ever get a good solid 7-8 hours of sleep? {fighting hard to not take a nap}

5. i've been eating pretty healthy even over the weekend and am still continuing. need to really get back into shape and to lose these 10 pounds that i've recently gained.

6. loving the sun thats been shining lately. even saw that on sunday its suppose to get up to 50 degrees. come on spring!

7. i had mike grill out some chicken last night for dinner. we both can't wait for warmer weather so we can eat dinners out on the patio again.

8. i think the flower budget will go towards flowers for the patio this year. i want to make it pretty and cozy.

9. had a nice and funny chat with a boy i use to babysit on face book last night. ok, he's no longer a boy- he's only 6 years younger than i and he's married. my mom use to babysit him when he was a baby. i babysat him when he was about 10 then my sister took over and babysat him and his little brother.

10. mike had the house cleaned when i got home sunday so there really isn't much for me to do. looks like a good day to start reading the twilight book. yes, i went and picked it up yesterday.
