10 things on halloween night: saturday

1. kaylee dressed up as a 50's girl with her daddy. i wish i had thought this outfit all the way through and gotten her a pink shiny jacket. {her skirt, socks, glasses and scarf from this etsy shop}

2. we didn't even go around our neighborhood. no lights were on and no kids were out. we headed over to my brothers house and managed to hit about 9 houses before kaylee called it quits.

3. it was cold and she was up numerous times the night before with a stuffy nose and earache. {we're thinking the earache is from the pressure from her stuffy nose or blowing her nose too hard} she ended up falling asleep in my arms tonight at 7:30. of course 2 seconds before that, she said she wasn't tired.

4. mike's parents left hours ago, mike and brent are at bdubs watching football, kaylee is asleep and who knows what havoc ham is up to but i'm enjoying the silence while i can.

5. i bought over 300 + pieces of candy and only had 8 trick or treaters show up at our house.

6. i posted a yummy recipe for pumpkin pie bars on my other blog- bites. taste like pumpkin pie but much easier and its in squares. i will need to post my italian beef recipe that i made tonight. it was yummy.

7. no call from oprah show yet.

8. at my brother's house saw an old swim mate of mine. found out she moved down the street from our old house around the same time we were moving out. weird.

9. i see i have more visitors and from different parts of the world. super cool! now if only they would leave me a comment or their blog to check out...

10 things slow rolling: thursday

halloween 2009 {play group}

1. i have a feeling today's going to be a ssssllllllooooowwww day. got to sleep in till 8am till my nose got caught of some "fresh" air and started sneezing.

2. in need of going to the grocery store for some steaks + potatoes via ham's request for dinner tonight. he says he's sick of pasta. he would eat meat + potatoes every day.

3. the house needs cleaning desperately. found cow webs in a few corners.

4. mike's parents are coming over for halloween on saturday. hope the weather's nice and warm so we can do a fire-pit.

5. i helped with kaylee's class yesterday and one of the teachers told the class to "thank mrs. buss for helping." kaylee's buddy, katie, looked at me all confused and said" i thought your name was kristi". via michelle-katie told her that my name has now changed to mrs. buss. {i guess i cant be kristi or mrs. buss at the same time}

6. i would love to curl up in bed with warm blankets and watch this movie again. {mr darcy. hubba hubba hubba is all i can say}

7. two weeks ago after ham got his haircut and before we left the salon, i asked him if his hair is short enough. he said yes. he's been complaining ever since that its too long on top. got him in today to fix it. hope they don't charge me an arm and leg or else ham will be missing one arm and one leg.

8. tuesday at play group one of the mom's mentioned a drink would of been nice to have at that moment. reminded me of desperate housewives. then the question came as to who would be which housewife. i think i might favor susan just because we're both a little ditsy + clumsy.

9. i'm craving a fruit smoothie and some pizza right now.

10. i'm currently wearing my 99 cent t-shirt from old navy and i have to say its the softest t-shirt ever. might have to go back and buy some more {i bought their fourth of july t-shirts to wear to bed}

10 things right now: wednesday

1. i tried to bring out my inner bakerella and made brownie ghost pops for our halloweenie party for our play group yesterday. while not really bakerella worthy still think they turned out nicely.

2. ahhh! life will be good tomorrow. no school thursday or friday for either of my kiddo's. that means i get to sleep in!

3. i signed up for tickets for oprah's show next week. fingers crossed they call me to be part of her audience. and i hope that i get a chance to sniff oprah. according to nienie she does smell really nice. {remember my post about dooce wondering if she smelled as good as she looked?}

4. today's my last day to be volunteer mom for kaylee's class.

5. ham had to get up by 6am this morning and off to school by 7. he said he had an airplane to fly for one of his classes.

6. found out that once again my mom leaves out my kids. she took 5 out of 9 grandkids to breakfast last saturday. took some christmas shopping for clothes too. we never got any one of those phone calls. {she's taken them to the ft wayne zoo, had them stay over for movies + slumber parties...ham is too old but kaylee? she would love it!}

7. is it too early for a nap?

8. i rearranged the furniture in the family room- all two pieces that's in there. i like it but its just showing that i need more furniture. maybe a love seat or two chairs but i love how big the room is this way.

9. on my neo counter yesterday it emailed me multiple times that i finally had 1400 visitors visit my blog. 1400!

10. really wanting to paint my bedroom. {still got old projects to finish up first. wish i had a "nazi" over here}

dwellstudio! besides their own website they can be found via design public- one of my favorite places to shop and target-my other favorite place to shop.

i'm loving their scribble kit. it comes with paper and 4 crayons. great for long trips or for taking along when dining out. kinda pricey {$36.00} but still super cute and a super gift idea.

and i'm thinking about getting kaylee one of these cute aprons for her birthday or christmas. {how cute is that paper doll print?} she loves wearing mine when we bake and i think she will get a lot of use from it. she can wear it while baking or painting one of her masterpieces. i was going to make her one but decided for $22 i can take the lazy route plus my sewing track record isn't so hot. {still need to finish my mom's from last christmas!}

10 things too early in the morning: monday

1. i'm really loving the look of suspenders and/or vests on men. i'm now on the search for a vest for mike to wear to that wedding in december. {via jessica claire}

2. kaylee and i went and saw where the wild things are saturday evening and had a great girls night out. {loved the movie but feel that it wasn't quite kaylee's style. it had no princesses in it but she says she still liked it}

3. sunday went over to a friend's of a friend's house and ate some yummy chili while watching the dolphins disappoint their biggest fan yet again. {the first half was very promising} i brought over a carrot cake from a bakery for dessert. {it was the host's birthday on wednesday and its one of his favorite cakes}

4. grateful that i get to wake up each morning to start a new day even when i feel crappy. {my head is about to burst+ my nose feels like its got a zillion paper cuts all over it :O( }

5. why does 6am feel like it comes earlier on mondays?

6. we decided to let our pitiful pesky cat back outside. mike promised to bath him more often.

7. can't believe halloween is this saturday and november is right around the corner!

8. my buddy michelle won that fondue giveaway hosted by exceeding the speed limit. SO happy she won and SO cool that i actually knew the weiner!

9. ham really didn't believe me when i told him the h3 {hummer 3} outside our front door was his but he still smiled anyway. he said he wouldn't want one, it's too big of a vehicle for him. a couple of his buddies did believe it was his though.

10. really loved watching brothers and sisters last night. it just needs to come on earlier.

1. i love everything in this image from anthropologie. they just opened their first european store in london.

2. kaylee had a great+ fun filled day yesterday even though her field trip to the pumpkin patch got canceled. mike took her bowling while i went grocery shopping. later we headed over to shipshewana for a yummy pretzel and merry go round ride. in the evening she got to play with one of her little buddies that we haven't seen in over a week. {we *heart* them}

3. my allergies can really suck it! {i saw this posted on a blog somewhere} i ran out of samples yesterday that my doc gave me and boy do i suffer. today i have a mild headache, still cant breathe and my nose is all chapped from having to blow it so much. and currently as i type this, i have a kleenex shoved up both nostrils to keep from dripping all over the place.

4. funny how things end up. the other day i thought to myself that we haven't been invited to a wedding in awhile. that same day we get an invitation to a wedding. this is now my motivation for the moment to get myself back in shape. i have till mid december to do it.

5. mike left already for the michigan wolverine game. he's driving ham's caddy and the guy he's going to the game with left his h3 here. i'm going to tell ham its his new ride! oh the tricks i have played on this boy!

6. thinking of taking graphic arts/design class.

7. sad that one of my favorite local shops is closing come this december.

8. wish i had the knowledge and financing to buy said local shop.

9. got nothing much planned for the weekend. its cold and little wet so maybe a nice hot bath and some chick flicks.

10. got 4 out of 9 kid's christmas presents bought. {not including my own kids}

10 {lazy} things right now: wednesday

1. love the little milk jars and wish i could find some around me. {via simple song}

2. the husband brought me roses and a funny little card last night. the last time he did this was a few years ago. that same weekend he attended a bachelor party that landed him in a very teeny tiny dog house. {the smaller the dog house, the more trouble he is in.}

3. today is a lazy, clean the house day and i'm horribly behind. i went back to bed around 8am only to wake up by 9am because i had to pee. hate it when that happens!

4. kaylee finally woke up around 10:30.

5. ham didn't get home till around 11:30 last night because he was working on homework with one of his buddies. at least that's his story.

6. i've been taking my allergy meds for a week or two now and while it helped with the runny nose, i still cant breath out of them though. {hence the running out of breath on my blog title}

7. really needing to dump the old make-up and finding something new. face care and make-up. any suggestions on your faves?

8. i'm still jealous that the husband is going to the michigan game this weekend. he got to go to miami and now this.

9. tuesday went shopping for those sexy high heels but didn't find them. did manage to find some other stuff though so not a total loss.

10. while kaylee was in school yesterday, i finally found her some jeans from jcpenneys. they had some great sales going on. i ended up finding her two pairs of jeans, a cute jean jacket and 4 outfits to wear around the house {sweat pants + long sleeve tops}.

this orange wallpaper + cushion by olli +lime. i was hoping to win it on their monthly giveaway to redo my crafting room but no such luck- boo me! i would buy some but really don't feel like having my husband's foot shoved up "where the sun don't shine" for paying that much for a roll.

10 {super} things at this moment : tuesday

1. 15 minutes after dropping kaylee off at school last friday, the UPS man came and dropped these two huge boxes at my front door. you could probably guess how giddy i was! {did the happy brown truck dance}

2. while i love everything- i am disappointed that crate and barrel wouldn't refund my shipping charge. am i asking for too much especially when i planned on buying at least $50+ more from them? {they are now offering free shipping on orders $100+. i missed it by a day- technically}

3. be sure to read the descriptions before buying. my bowls are 8". perfect for say pasta, super HUGE for cereal, at least half a box and my tea cups? they hold about 1/4 cup of liquid. they're still super cute being all tiny.

4. found the cutest high heels yesterday at tj maxx. going over to the other tj maxx today in hopes they will be there in my size. i found them on-line but the price at tj maxx is much better.

5. also going to target, old navy and kohls while i'm over that way. i didn't find any clothes for kaylee.

6. it makes me sad having to buy larger sizes for her. my lil' baby is growing up so fast!

7. these are the times when i want to have another one or twins really. then reality strikes and it fades away.

8. i tried those icy hot patches last night on part of my back. boy do they work. my right side feels so much better than my left side. now if only they would make them to fit my whole back side rather than just patches.

9. if mike would let me, i would so do this.

10. reading all the blogs that i do has really sparked my interest even more in wanting to go overseas. cute shops, yummy food, funky fashions and great architectural details is right up my alley. {i will have to list the places i want to visit on here someday}

10 things right now: monday

1. friday night kaylee got her face painted with a butterfly at her school's open house while i got the evil eye from a mom that was unnecessary. her kid got there after us and the kids who were before us wouldn't go. it was a fun open house but we didn't stay long. we had mike with us and they didn't serve beer nor did they have espn on.

2. and speaking of a mad house, we went up to notre dame on saturday to pick up some pizza's to bring home. traffic everywhere and streets closed off. wow- notre dame fans take their LOSING team seriously!

3. ham decided to stay home from school at 7:30 this morning. he claims he has a belly ache. wish this belly ache would of came on last night so i could of slept in. is that wrong to wish that?

4. i made cousin jessica's secret turtle cheesecake recipe yesterday to take to monday night dinner that got switched to sunday so my other brother and his family could join us- they ended up not coming because they had the swine flu all week. the cheese cake was delish!

5. ham got a ticket saturday night for improper turn at intersection. WTH?

6. oh how i want a vacation or to move someplace where the temps never go below 65 or really 70's.

7. trying to come up with some christmas gift ideas for my nieces and nephews. man, kids are hard to buy for these days except for kaylee, she wants anything +everything!

8. after school today, i think kaylee and i will head up to the big mall since we don't have monday night dinner and mike will be out of town. kaylee is in need of some long sleeve shirts + jeans.

9. after returning from the open house on friday, we think we saw our cat going for a walk along the pond. he was on the other side and since there's no short cut, it look liked he was taking a walk. mike went on my bike to see if it was our pesky stinky cat but it got scared and ran into the woods before mike got a chance to see what it was.

10 things right now: friday

1. my little nuggie in a tub full of bubbles with her naked barbie. she is no longer afraid of those jets that makes those fabulous bubbles.

2. yesterday we had a wonderful distraction- lunch with friends. i tried a new recipe- panini's and they were yummy. i'm craving some at the moment.

3. last night little nugget asked when we would be moving into our new house. i asked her why are we moving and she replied that we're going to an open house tomorrow night. (she has an open house at her school today. funny how she associated/remembered all of our open houses with moving)

4. big nugget has another haircut appointment today after school. i swear his hair grows like a weed and i swear he loves going to the salon! why wouldn't he? not only does he get a mini massage at the beginning of the appointment but a mini facial at the end.

5. last night we went to a furniture store that's going out of business to get kaylee a new bookshelf (her old one i moved to the kitchen. will have to post that sometime) instead we got her a dresser that has some drawers and shelves that's hidden behind some doors. went $100 over my original budget but mike said it would look better and it was a better deal.

6. kaylee is playing hair stylist again doing my hair but i think her favorite part is writing up the "customer" sheet. she loves to write.

7. my goodies from crate and barrel should be on their way to my doorstep as we speak. yeah me! or happy birthday to me or happy anniversary to me or merry christmas to me or happy day to me!

8. last night i went to target alone and i must say that i really appreciate all my alone time that i get.

9. i really want to see whip-it and couples retreat. i LOVE jason bateman!! * i forgot to add where the wild things are

10. no big plans for the weekend. just hoping for some FUN!

flowers on my front porch

1. kaylee woke up late today and yesterday. by late, i mean 10:30ish or so. i think she just has a slight cold. no fever but she said she didnt feel good enough to go to school yesterday.

2. i had a brain fart this morning and totally forgot about play group.

3. in all honesty, i was shopping on-line making my favorites list on ikea and crate + barrel. i found my tea cups but waiting for a response from crate + barrel before i order.

4. i know i said that i needed to watch the budget but the items i'm getting are on clearance and discontinued and i would like to complete my dish set.

5. mike cant say anything because he was a very bad boy when he was in miami, remember? {gambling issues}

6. plus, these purchases are considered my "holiday" presents whenever mike doesnt buy me anything. like our anniversary.

7. funny how these things work out- while i went the cheaper route and saw a doctor for my allergies ive been wanting to go back to my old chiropractor but its just so expensive. yesterday i got a newsletter from them and it tells a case where an 11 year old girl who suffered much of her life from chronic sinusitis is able to smell again. i will post a link once the newsletter is on their website. makes me want to see if they will take my insurance.

8. bought a few things for kaylee for either her birthday or christmas. {target had some dress-up clothes on sale}

9. ive been tempted to email jenna from sweet fine day to post more pics of her house/apartment. how lucky am i? design sponge did it for me! {i absolutely adore her! she's got the cutest girls, a husband who cooks, her pics are just awesome and they sell sweets here and here - great gift idea!}

10. with half my day gone, got lots to do. run errands then come back and clean house.

10 things right now: monday

1. long story short- 3pm. told kaylee she could not have anything else to eat till dinner since she didn't finish her lunch. would you, could you say no to this face?

2. great weekend. went to a get together over at mike's friends house. got to see friends we hadn't seen in years. i made 2 different types of sugar cookies [because my mom wont give me the recipe for the best ones ever] + some mini pecan toffee bites. wasn't going to take any of them but then ended up taking them all.

3. i took lots of pictures from the party but a little sad i didn't get one of myself. for once i looked cute.

4. found some white teacups at macy's but they ended up being 3x's the price compared to crate and barrel. keeping my eye out for sales especially since its getting so much closer to christmas

5. i cant wait to get my new glasses.

6. still have many projects to finish and new ones to get started.

7. finally gave in and had to turn on the heat. found ham in his room with his hoodie over his head and slippers on. if ham's cold then it must be cold

8. i love it when ham has his friends over even if they dont stay for a long time [does make me want to keep the house cleaner]

9. mike gets to go the big house in a few weeks with one of his co-workers to watch the michigan wolverines play. i want to go! we both have never been to the stadium before.

10. desperately need to find a new place for my computer. still on the floor in the dining room but dont want to go to my craft/office. its cold, its in the basement even if it finished, my craft room is crowded and it smells like stinky cat.

1. today is friday and today is my mommy day. i have an eye doctors appointment early this morning and a massage for early afternoon. i can't wait! i'm not sure but i think having been a swimmer for so many years and then doing nothing really tightens my muscles. that could be a hint that i need to start swimming again?

2. did the bills this morning. oh where does all the money go?

3. kaylee picked up her toys last night without one complaint. 0h life is good.

4. i went to a new doctor yesterday. its the same office as my doctor who moved to texas. i think i've found the one. yesterday my allergies were still bad even after taking my meds she prescribed but this morning. oh i am feeling fine.

5. no big plans for the weekend besides a little get together saturday up in laporte. i'm thinking of going then coming back home. can't leave a teenage home alone over night.

6. i love fall! {wish the temps were in the 70's not 50's}

7. i'm searching for plain white tea cups. these are pretty close to what i'm looking for.

8. also searching for some big art work. i've got some big plain walls that need some color.

9. totally digging these boots over at born. stylish yet simple for everyday wear.

10. we finally got an interest in the caddy. fingers cross that he buys it. now if we could get some interest on the motorcycle. butthead #1 owes us $700.00 at the moment and i have a feeling we wont be seeing it either. we finally settled with butthead #2.

10 things right now

1. i cant seem to get my image to fit within my blog border- help!?

2. see the ring on my blog header? monday katie came over before school and kaylee was chasing her around with it saying "kiss the ring." mike got it by winning skee ball at chuck e cheese a few years ago and yes, he made us kiss the ring.

3. i been feeling like shit lately. sorry for the bad word but it best describes how i've been feeling. think of your worst cold x's 10. saturday at our friends house i was treated to yummy spaghetti, meatballs, ribs and garlic bread- i couldn't taste any of it not even the 10 cloves of garlic used on the bread. (slight exageration on the garlic but needed to prove my point). i did know the ribs were a little spicy but thats all i got.

4. so you would think i would stop eating. nope. i keep eating hoping some sort of flavor will show up.

5. i took kaylee to the old bag factory yesterday. wish i had taken my camera. the buildings 100 years old and i definitely could of moved in. kaylee got her first pottery items from dick lehman. he had a small shelf of items just for kids priced just for kids ($4.00 each). of course she picks out a brown mug + bowl. dick lehman was such a nice guy. he let us watch him paint a few pieces and he gave kaylee a big slab of clay to take home.

6. oh my what a windy storm we had last night. the walnuts hitting our house sounded like bowling balls. i was hoping that if anything should coming crashing down that it would happen in my master bath so we can renovate it.

no such luck.

7. the economy sucks! two of my favorite magazines are closing their doors- cookie and gourmet. and i just signed up for a 2 year subscription for gourmet.

8. amanda- i did just that on monday. i made a massage appointment for friday, my mommy day. life is good.

9. monday night i went to bed early, around 11pm and had a great nights rest. i was hoping to repeat it last night but failed. the pesky cat woke me up at 3:45 whining to be let outside.

10. debating on coming home after dropping kaylee off at school and taking a nap or doing some errands. errand running will probably win considering we have no food in the house.

2. great weekend- got my roots covered, spent time with great friends chatting, watching football, eating yummy food while the kids played.

3. i have a feeling that all those years of ham being a good, quiet boy, staying home etc... has finally come to bite me in the butt. friday, i got a call from once again a local sheriff. guess this guy is hired by the school and ham + a few of his buddies got caught doing donuts + attempting to drift on the school's parking lot tuesday evening. they could either have their license suspended etc or write a paper on why doing these things are illegal- due today. the sheriff did say that ham was really polite.

4. mike is out of town for a few days this week. i'm hoping my "getting projects done" bug comes back while he is away.

5. friday i have an eye doctors appointment so mike said why dont i just make it a "mommies day out" for myself. he will take care of kaylee. oh what to do and where to go?

6. i read on a blog this morning that there are only 81 days left till christmas. 81 days! where has the year gone?

8. i jumped on the simplesong 2010 calendar and bought myself one, along with a few other goodies last week. i always kick myself whenever i pass up on her goods and its no longer available.

10 things right now

hawaii 2008

1. my hands are freezing as i type this morning. wishing i was living in hawaii or just some place warm. {am i really that short? no wonder ham calls me midget}

2. the other day kaylee wore her new old navy pants and said she felt like a bubble butt. the elastic was in the back rather than the sides.

3. i stated that kaylee is definitely a buss when she replied, very sternly- "i am not a bus, do you see any wheels under me?"

4. i remembered kaylee's picture day though i'm just getting her a class picture. since when did they start charging $30 for a basic preschool picture packet? i plan on doing a "photo shoot" at home once the weather gets warmer.

5. went for a mile walk yesterday though i blew it by eating a chocolate bar, wings and buffalo chips (french fries cut in circles) with cheese. to justify it, i didn't eat much during the day and i ate only a few wings.

6. nothing new or exciting with ham. he's getting decent grades (A's + B's) and he's still looking for his dream car.
