friday's 10

1. somber mood this week. not pms-ing so i'm blaming it on the weather. i feel lonely, deprived, antsy and boring.

2. kaylee's room is almost finished and i love it! it sure is purdy.

3. mike + i were talking about taking a vacation this year. on oprah she said that almost 600,000 people lost their jobs last year. mike is running the mini marathon in indy and we will be staying the weekend, that will be our vacation.

4. kaylee keeps asking me for a baby sister. at playgroup there's a baby boy there and i ask her if we can take him home, she says no. he's a boy not a girl.

5. cant decide on a paint color for the kitchen. i was thinking of a grayish color but i'm also loving an almost mustard color or an off white color.

6. wednesday the cat took the time to hop onto one of my new dining room chairs and pee while i was in the next room fixing kaylee some breakfast. last night, mike found a dried pee spot on his leather command center. the new house is now smelling like ass. i bought about 100 bucks worth of air fresheners from bath and body works. its helping for now.

7. ham has half a day of school. why?

8. the snow has melted. wish it wasn't so cold, windy and gray.

9. totally loving the house. i finally have my own bathroom since mike's nice enough to use the one in his mantuary.

she's my idol. i spent the day with a headache and sinus infection so i went back through her archives. she's got talent and she's got style. i'm so jealous. and she lives in california= great weather, great locations + she can go to the beach whenever she wants! and she made me realize just how much i miss tucking my kids into bed at night. the routine of getting on jammies, the excitement of getting read a story, the kisses and hugs and the i love you's + good night's. i got to get kaylee's room done asap.

sunday's 10

1. friday went to the ymca for kaylee's "gym" time. got to hold + love on little babies. after reading comments about my gorgeous family, holding babies + unpacking kaylee's baby pictures has my ovaries doing sommer saults. do i want another one or don't i? remembering the sickness feeling for 9 months + the actual giving birth part makes my backache every time.



2. stacy from the order of disarray surprised me with these from whimsy + spice. i had posted about them awhile back. thanks stacy- you totally rock! i was hoping to try them in my hot cocoa this evening but painting got the best of me. don't worry, they're still soft and will be used shortly.


3. i also received my blog winnings from melanie over at you are my fave. two polaroids pics. i cant wait to find a place for them. and i cant wait to find my usb cable to download all my photos to show everyone.


4. i really would like to learn how to knit but i know i would probably just give up on the the cute top i had posted about earlier.


5. mike's one room in the house is pretty much complete. he's waiting for me to give him the thumbs up to buy another tv for over the bar area. keep dreaming my love, keep dreaming. (ham wants a car and baby wants a coffee table and buffet- still!)


6. painting sucks. i think i bought the wrong kind of paint, roller or the walls really sucks. the paint wont "stay" on the wall and i will probably need to do a second coat even though i primed it first. primings overrated and it has nothing and i mean nothing to do with the operator.


7. snow, while pretty when falling from the sky sucks too because it means freak'n cold weather.


8. kaylee was watching something the other night while i was on the computer- wireless does not suck- anyway, she says" what the the hell". and i said what? and she says it again- " what the hell" where in the hell did she get that? just kidding! she really did say it.


9. ham was sick today with a headache so that means i get to sleep in a little tomorrow. he's skipping school since he didnt get his homework done. he normally does not skip school. he ends up with too much homework so this is a surprise and a little treat for me.


10. looking for some cute bath towels but having a hard time finding them. i went to pottery barn on-line for the ones i wanted but they are now on sale and all gone :O( i want some FUN towels, not boring solid color towels.

working hard

working on my closet at the moment. took out the shoe shelves and moved in the high boy. mike was suppose to do this but that means i could be waiting 5 years like i did in the old house waiting for closet doors. kaylee came in saving me by wanting a snack ie "crabby patties" which means she wants a bologna sandwich on a hamburger bun. hmm.... does that mean she watches too much spongebob? since i cant seem to find my usb cords to download pictures thought i would share some time consuming fun. i did this a few weeks ago.

wednesday's randoms

randomness because i'm lazy and i like lists.

1. getting back to semi-normal. actually made dinner tonight and ate in the dining room. second meal cooked by me in the new house. {first meal was chili + cornbread saturday. tonight it was chicken +noodles + potatoes.}

2. kaylee is opening up some. she went to mike's buddy brent over the weekend and actually sat in his lap. then yesterday mike had one of his employee/friend come over to see the house and she would tease him by playing tag etc. while mike was showing him the 1/2 bath off the garage kaylee informs them both that she poops in there. isn't she the cutest?

3. i'm afraid that the other homeowner in arlene will not forward my mail and its making me nervous.

4. mike was named operations supervisor (which he already was) but now over another area. too bad that doesn't mean more pay.

5. went shopping today and found some curtains for hamilton's room. jcpenneys is having a great sale. one panel was like 30 bucks and i got the second one for a buck. they're the black out ones too. once his room is all finished i will post pictures.

6. i think hamilton's liking the new house. his rooms a lot closer to the kitchen and he's looking forward to getting a car. so am i. dropping him off in the morning and then having to pick him by 3pm really cuts into my busy days of blogging/reading blogs, oh wait, i mean unpacking and cleaning and taking care of kaylee.

7. i do have some pictures to post but have been too lazy to download them.

8. kaylee asks to go back to the old house once every once in awhile and she also asks if we will live here forever and ever.

9. i still need to see confessions of a shopaholic + he's just not into you

10. mike tells me today that he forgot to send out one of the radon tests. i kinda figured but didn't want to say anything and to give him the benefit of the doubt for once.

finally!

so closing went well today. the only drama was time scheduling but it wasn't a big deal considering all that we have gone through. holla! we are finally over the housing drama and we are now homeowners of a new place and i must say its wonderful! {till we get our first mortgage payment that is-ha!} have i mentioned how much i love doing laundry at the moment? yep, my laundry sings to me when its all done. we didn't get the most expensive appliances but we got side loaders and they're energy efficient and they chime when its all done and they're on the main level, few steps away from the kitchen, master bedroom and garage. gotta love that! yesterday after our closing on arlene we went furniture shopping. i'm looking for a white coffee table for the living room and a buffet for the dining room. i didn't find anything. mike found a white sox mural to go behind his command center. pictures will be posted soon. i did find this on-line tonight and i got these pillows for the new couch.

sunday randomness

1. so we've been sleeping in our house for a few days now and i have to pinch myself that its real. {it would be better if the packing was done}

2. its still not technically our house yet. tomorrow we close on arlene ave. at 9:00am and tuesday we close on phaeton though we don't know what time yet.

3. while packing last week, i denied myself the luxury of doing laundry so now i'm catching up. i have never been so happy to do laundry till this day and i love the fact that my laundry room is on the main level. who knew laundry took up so much space?

4. short shout out of thanks for everyone who has been encouraging, supportive and helped in one way or another with our move.

5. my dad was the most proudest and sincerest in my family with the house. he said that he was really proud of us and all the hard work we did in order to achieve it.

6. kaylee was a bad girl last night. she wouldn't share [normal] nor would she apologize [stubborn]

7. still cant believe we live in this house. it feels amazing and i hope the owner at our old house feels the same.

8. i'm getting rid of more junk. where did it all come from? and where did i have it at in the old house?

9. i'm exhausted and took the day off.

10. today i experienced one of the saddest things. its not like i have never given money to a homeless person before but this time it was different. went to target and on our way home, there was a women on the corner of the street with a sign. it was heartbreaking. we turned around and gave her all the money we had on us. 20 bucks + 5 bucks worth of change. she was wearing sweats and its freezing outside. as i handed her the money, i saw her pain and her tears. i had tears and couldn't find anything to say. i have so much and yet gave so little. life is not fair.

update

house drama update:

the radon guy is here drilling holes into the "livable" space. he made a funny comment saying that the pipe has to go here in the living room. he thinks its silly too but hey, its what the buyer wants done. after a day of talking like a trucker and a sleepness night, i have to remember that i believe in karma. she's being one of those buyers who takes full advantage of the seller because she knows we want out and will do anything. she wouldn't let us have half a day friday and has inconvenienced us on moving into phaeton place. one day she will get hers. as of right now, its looking like we could close on arlene on saturday and phaeton on tuesday. (she's a school teacher and they have friday and monday off)

for some good news, we are waiting to hear back from the sellers agreeing to let us move in today. we already have the insurance to take cover today and for electric + gas to start in our name. until we hear back, all we can do is stuff everything into the garage. i hope to hear back soon- we have furniture delivery today. (see the inconveniences she has caused? and we rented a moving truck too today)

random wednesday

randomness because i'm taking a break:

1. more house drama- the radon test came back .3 higher than should be so we might have to fork over another $850 to solve that problem + the appraiser came back yesterday. i forgot to fix + paint the chipped paint on the windows so had to do that today. FHA lenders can suck my kiss! (who sings it?)

2. i feel like kicking someones ass. see #1. instead i've been drinking since noonish.

3. kaylee has been asking me to feed her breakfast, lunch and dinner. whats up with that?

4. ham told me he found a new pair of shoes he wants called 'supra' (?) so i asked "what are they 'supra' expensive?" get it hahaha ok. he didn't find that funny either. only $110.00! i told him i would pay the $10 + shipping + tax, he pays the rest. he didn't find that funny either.

5. i love it when i hear my kids talking back and forth though its usually kaylee talking and ham saying uh huh, ok or nope.

6. i almost got into an accident with my neighbors yard. guess that's what happens when i feel like i can peel out on a slick road at a stop sign. danica patrick, i am not. *oops this happened monday morning. and just so we 're clear i never drink and drive! i was packing +drinking ;O)
7. we have to be out by midnight tomorrow night.

8. going to miss this house a little. the hardwood floors, the arched hallways + especially the memories of when it was just me + ham. our surprise wedding in the front yard, bringing kaylee home for the first time......

9. sunday was reminded of why we wanted to move. the laundry sink got clogged again.

10. cant wait to be done and moved in!!!

pam from pure + simple shared some quotes which got me thinking what is my all time favorite quote. then i remembered asking my mom, years ago, what would she do if she knew she could not fail? and her response surprised me. she said she would love to do a play. what luck- that same week there were auditions being held at our local theatre. she didn't go. guess she was afraid of failing. so that's my question to all of you-

i SO want to make one

friday

last sunday while over at one of mike's co-workers house for superbowl kaylee started to come out of her shell a little so i decided that i really need to get her out more. with the packing getting done, we went to playgroup on tuesday and to our local ymca yesterday. they have a "kids day out" program. for 3 bucks the kids get an hours worth of playtime. bouncing on mats, swinging on ropes, balancing on beams. it's really worth the money. kaylee made some new friends too, it was cute to see them holding hands.

after we left there, kaylee and i treated ourselves to dessert for lunch. she got a donut and i got a delicious slice of texas sheet cake. i now wish i had bought two slices......drool..... maybe 3...my "muffin top" just snapped a button off my jeans just from the thought! mike came home early from work so we just hung around the house till it was time to pick ham up from school. we dropped ham off back at the house and took off for sofa select to schedule a delivery and to pay for the furniture. besides the dining table +chairs and mike's command center we went ahead and bought my sectional for the living room. i even got it in this color. i'm hoping to take away all the blue that's on the walls. i'm guessing kaylee approves of the sofa we picked out. the people at sofa select even took her picture so they can post it on their facebook page. she feel asleep in the car and wouldn't wake up. after dropping big bucks on furniture we decide to comfort ourselves with an early dinner. we tried a new restaurant called soho. its a japanese place and the food was delicious. here's kaylee trying a lemon.

the first + last pictures are her actual reaction. she must of liked it somewhat because she would do it over and over again. after dinner, came home and just chilled the rest of the evening.

productive thursday

so wow- i got so much done yesterday that it felt great. i need to get into that mode more often. after dropping ham off at school, came back home and started cleaning bathrooms, sweeping floors, laundry etc.. the biggest challenge was kaylee's toy room but that got done too. i even packed up a few more boxes. it helped knowing that a friend was coming over to look at a rocking chair. [she's due with little nugget #2 in march, hi christine!] kept me focused on task at hand. and so while doing the dishes, this image of kaylee came to mind. she's about 9 months old and we're in myrtle beach. i love how chunky she use to be + love her little nostril flare. oh my! such sweetness. this image was my deciding factor in having another rugrat. in the fall so i can have all winter to get fat +kaylee will start pre-school + no more holiday babies. two birthdays near christmas is really a pain on the budget though we've managed to do just fine. {christmas shopping in october helps!}

to finish out my thursday i got the honor to babysit this little cutie guy! kaylee and i had a great time entertaining him by playing cars, little people, golf clubs, singing + playing the ukulele. after he left, kaylee got ready for bed and was out in 5 minutes flat. love it when that happens.

random thursday, it is thursday right?

randomness for thursday. lots going on.

1. we move in one week! we get keys to start moving stuff into the garage next monday. is there such a thing as a movingasm? i think i had one the other day while seeing the words: closing, next week, close on arlene on wednesday, close on phaeton place thursday. you know you would of had one too if you were moving!

2. went over to a friends house yesterday. she's got a lovely house with an awesome view of the river. we ate a real yummy lunch at a local bagel shop. got dessert too- apple crumbcake. just don't tell my "muffin top", butt or thighs. i'm upset that i didn't get any photos + i had my camera with me. next time!

3. ikea reusable bag make awesome laundry bags! lighter + less bulky than a laundry basket.

4. i won a t-shirt + polaroids from two blogs this week. whoo hoo! i didn't expect to win and i'm not a blog prize seeking whore but i had to leave comments. the first one was on simple scrapbooks. had to let them know how sad i was that they are having to close up shop due to the economy. i was just getting ready to start back up my subscription to the new address. and the second one was to wish a happy blog birthday. i love birthdays! i won because you are my fave thought i left the funniest comment. she's got a cute blog that i spent a whole afternoon going through the archives.

5. i'm so behind on my photography.

6. i love the age four. kaylee is starting to ask me questions and what does this or that mean.

7. more stuff to worry about. simple notebook has a list of foods that have high fructose corn syrup in it which also means it contains some levels of mercury. you can read about it here.

8. i'm procrastinating any more cleaning today. i need to clean out the fridge badly. i want make something or go shopping instead.

9. mike wants to have another rugrat. i'm debating it. i'm just getting so old.

10. i'm ready for spring.

its february. the month of love. this is still one of my favorites that i need to make. from crayon bits melted in-between wax paper. from martha stewart of course.

shooting gophers, indiana white + no lies

is it just me or has 2009 already been flying by? i mean its february already. feb-br-ary! and who's with me in shooting the stupid Gopher who saw his shadow so that means a longer winter???? i'm sick of indiana white. but. i'm not sick of kaylee being at her cousins house this afternoon. can i get a what-what! out of that? i haven't gotten anything done on my to- do list but i did go to lowes and bought some un-environmentally friendly spray paint so i can paint kaylee's bed. she's not using it, which i'm not discussing at the moment, so i'm taking it apart and making a mess in the garage since its no longer my garage. technically speaking- 9 more days till closing! holla! then i got to cruise around my favorite store of all times- target. what a great way to spend an hour looking at whatever i want without having some kid demand something every 5 minutes. i know the mom's +dad's are saying amen sister to that. and why cant holister mark down their $20.00 t-shirts to $4.98 like target? i picked up a few shirts for kaylee all under $5.00. so not fair. and after picking up my ungrateful teenager, i went tanning. to rid myself of the indiana white.

she's wickedly awesome with cake mix, fondant + icing. i wish she would sell the goods. i don't love my loved ones enough to make this. ok i do but i'm still working on her cake pops from halloween.
