saturday i got the husband to go to ikea again. it had nothing to do with him getting his big tv, riding lawn mower and white sox wall paper. nope, no guilt trip from me, no never. this time around we headed to bolingbrook which is on the outskirts of chicago. it made the trip much better because it was much faster- 2 hours and no traffic! i got my white coffee table and a few other things. since i am a copy catter, i had to copy nate and jac from the image is found and got a few of these for my hallway too. next ikea trip- no husband or kid.
sunday was spent cleaning up some and napping. (the monster +vodka i had saturday night kept me awake) then over to a friends house for dinner. christine made yummy fajitas with homemade tomato "salsa" and guacamole. we had a great time but i think i embarrassed mike a little by making him bring his own beer. i didn't want him to be a rude guest and drink all of tad's beer. i brought dessert- striped delight and will post the recipe on my other blog called bites. hi christine!
this week has been busy and its only tuesday. trying to come up with a baby gift for a mom from our playgroup. i made a few baby blankets and would like to find something else to go along with it but coming up short. i am loving this from coveiter
makes me want to throw a baby shower. i love parties! then this morning mike emails me wanting to know if i would make dinner for one of his co-worker that's coming from out of town. so i spent the day cleaning, grocery shopping and making chicken+ dumplings, salad and cheesecake cupcakes. it turned out pretty good considering i haven't cooked an actual dinner in like a month. hopefully this will bring me back to "normal".
Aw, Kristi you are so sweet! By the way your purse and shoes were FABULOUS! ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd you are totally at fault for probably 10 of the blogs I follow...and now more...the image is found and coveiter. love!
I so have to post a blog about that coffee shop in Shipshewana soon! Can't wait to show you the pics!
And you sooooo made me hungry...I love fajitas and dumplings. Again...not together, ew.
I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever feel like cooking dinner is a normal, everyday thing, instead of right now it feels like climbing mt everest. or something harder. :)
