happy halloween

1. i got to wear my duck boots again this morning. i think i might be bringing them back in style here in texas. [wish i had gotten the ones with the fluffy stuff inside because i like to go w/out socks]

2. i got them on sale with free shipping- holla!

3. thank-you ham for your "too small" plaid shirt. its so soft and comfy.

4. went to potbelly's yesterday and grabbed a turkey sandwich and eating the rest of it now. wish i had a whole sandwich. and a carrot cake. wish i had a carrot cake.

5. i got a text this morning from the other volunteer who runs the school store on thursday that she wasn't able to make it. little kid stuff issues.

6. so afterwards, i went to krogers to grab a few things to make chili tonight per mike requests.

7. then treated myself to a starbucks peppermint hot chocolate with soy and whip.

8. decided to do some crafting for my filofax. yup, its my new obsession. [instagram]

9. i also found people looking for pen pals on instagram but i feel too old to be a pen pal even though i would like one from overseas. [i get weary about people on-line]

10. i think it might have stopped raining. hopefully it stays away till after trick or treating.

week 9

1. this is what she wore last week. i forgot to do week 8 since nanny was here.

2. it was another theme week but we remembered when it was thursday and friday. 

3. thursday was wear a team shirt day. she chose her aggie shirt which was fitting since we took her out of school early to visit ham.

4. friday was wear a hat day. she chose my kona brewing company one. makes me miss kona. and hawaii.

5. i had to drive kaylee to school this morning because it was down pouring. i think this was the 2nd or 3rd time in the 2 years we have lived here.

6. i have full intentions on being PRODUCTIVE today but i've been side tracked with a recipe search and bill paying. [we got payed a day early. we get payed on the 15th and end of the month. wish they would make it the friday close too or on that payday]

7. i worked some more on my filofax last night turning it into a wallet and think i got it exactly how i want it to work. 

8. but finding its too small for it to be a planner too which i kinda knew. [trying to justify in getting the malden in ochre in a A5 size]

9. it will still hold a monthly calendar for making appointments and all doctor/emergency type stuff in the back but i want something i can write more detailed things in.

10. especially since we're having problems with home warranty sending people out who don't want to do the work. we've had 4 people come out for the same problem all pointing fingers at someone else.

grub in college station : oct 24, 2013

1. boy do those two test me to my limit and beyond.

2. they both seem to be helpless and complain about almost everything from my cooking to how bored they are and that they don't like texas.

3. i felt kinda normal this morning after reading this.  guess its one of those "perks" of being a mom.

4. i know i should feel blessed that they are healthy and smart but sometimes they are not kind or grateful.

5. mike said he understands because the guys that work for him drive him nuts too. then i told him, at least he gets to go home and getaway from it for awhile.

6. and i'm pouting a little because he gets to go to dallas on saturday and won't be back till monday. he's going to the dallas football game with 2 of his work buddies.

7. while i get to stay here and feed and entertain my two ungrateful rugrats. [this is all said with love]

8. i decided that i needed to be more productive with my days so today i went to staples and hobby lobby to get things for my new filofax.

9. came home and ate lunch while trying to come up with a meal plan.

10. then i went to the grocery store, came home to wash dishes, make dinner and start a load of laundry. not a bad start.

1. kaylee was so excited about this run that she didn't mind waking up at 6:15 on a sunday.

2. our race was at 9:00 but we had to take nanny to the airport first. [i didn't have the dates nanny was going to be here when i signed us up for the race]

3. of course it was down pouring that morning.

4. once we got to the race, i had to pee and couldn't find a porta potty anywhere.

5. they didn't start the race till half an hour later so we were wet, kinda cold and had to pee.

6. once the race got started, we ran for a bit but i couldn't run anymore because my bladder was so full!

7. about half way, we see houses and an empty lot with half a fence around it. guess who went potty? yup, i did not care whatsoever! [the other people started coming in with the same idea in mind]

7. after emptying my bladder, i could of ran the whole way back but kaylee was getting tired. 

8. she did really well and we probably ran at least a mile or so all together.

9. mike got a shovel full of orange thats why he looks like an oompaloompa.

10. afterwards they had a little party where even more color was thrown. it was so much but we had to leave because the dolphins played at noon plus we were wet and hungry.

1. one day last week, i made a double batch of cinnamon apple cake and mike said it would be funny if i smeared some all over kaylee's face.

2. kaylee said "yeah, that would be pretty funny."  so i did. and it was. 

3. ham said he didn't want any cake which surprised me and the reason why i was making two.

4. its his favorite cake and he will eat about 3/4 in one day. 

5. he ended up eating about half of it and took the other half back with him. do i know him or what?

6. i got to spend most of my morning on the cell phone yesterday. our home phone wasn't working- again.

7. so they sent a tech out and its working again. [they blame our alarm system company while our alarm system company blames them]

8. and i also got to call home warranty. while hot tubing, mike noticed a light electrical shock near the light so now we have 2 guys coming. one to check the pool and one to check the house. its a weird situation.

9. which i'm hoping is a cheap situation.

10. for some reason last week, i thought nanny was flying in on wednesday. good thing i asked because she's flying in today! [nanny is mike's mom]

[friday] loving

1.  no school on monday- parent/teacher conference.

2. so we went to bring your kid to work day.

3. she got to be boss and went to lunch with mike while i went to ikea.

4. i got to go on a field trip today with kaylee's class.

5. we got to see an opera, the barbara bush library and the museum.

6. getting an email that the job opening we wanted in trinidad is available.

7. getting the house together- finally. [started to tape ham's room for painting]

8. getting to wear my duck boots- its raining super hard right now so tomorrow i'm busting them out.

9. coming up with a halloween outfit for kaylee. [need to get a few more pieces]

ur here swap and random bits

1. this is what i sent to my urhere buddy.  this was kinda a sewers/quilt makers swap but i got permission to join in since treats were allowed too.

2. i wanted to add something "crafty"/homemade and found the hoop idea last minute on instagram. they had an initial in place of the heart but i wanted to make it neutral. [thought it would look cute in the soon to be baby's room]

3. kaylee really loved the hoop so i made her one for her room. she wanted the letter k.

4. if you go on flickr and look up urhere swap, you can see all the quilts/goodies others had made. wow- people amaze me with their talents! and patients to make those quilts!

5. my dog, ollie, is getting on my nerves this week barking at EVERYTHING that moves outside.

6. the weather has cooled down some- its such a nice change. i love sweater weather.

7. i went to ace hardware to get ham's onyx paint that he wants the one wall to be. they won't make it because its black and black is hard to mix. so now i have to go to an actual benjamin moore store.

8. i ran into a workout friend that i haven't seen in a few months. she joined a different gym. one thats closer to our house.

9. i've been thinking about changing gyms too because the one i'm going to doesn't offer many classes during the day. i have so much time during the day that these night classes are an inconvenience.

10. my duck boots are on their way today! of course it stopped raining and the sun is shining.
