random

1. the husband waiting for kaylee to get off the bus on her first day of school.

2. we finally won a soccer game again on saturday. 12-0.

3. hamilton is home sick today. he fainted- or some other manly word for it and was all hot/cold and clammy before going to bed last night.

4. which means i didn't sleep.

5. went to my sister's house saturday evening for a cookout. she passed out by 10pm. NERD!

6. mike got his expensive lawn mower fixed and ham got expensive new brakes + expensive oil change in his car last week. can you hear the cha-ching?!! {almost $1400 for both repairs!]

7. though i did get this and this in the mail so i felt a little better. they are beautiful. now i just need an ikea trip so i can get some frames.

8. thinking of hanging them in my bedroom after i paint it. [i know. i'm so slow on my projects!]

9. i'm trying to convince mike i need a silhouette so i can re-label my pantry to look like this. plus i've been re-containering [kristism] my cupboards with those lock n lock containers. LOVE THEM!

10. kaylee's doing much better with school like i knew she would. its a big adjustment having to get up early and to be gone all day. [8:30ish - 4:00ish]

book club + a little cutie pie

last night was my book club meeting that i got to host. i love hosting. i hate doing "homework" so i didn't. it ended up being fun. we all just shared what we liked or didn't like about sarah's key and there was no following a readers book club guide. just winged it which is how i like it! watermelon martini's, sweet tea, wine and beer along with buckeye brownies with vanilla ice cream and cinnamon apple cake was served. [wish i had gotten photos of them]

while waiting for the bus yesterday my neighbor asked if i was worried that hamilton would eat some of the desserts. i told her "nah, hamilton wouldn't do that. " of course once i got inside i saw that 1/4 of the cinnamon apple cake was missing. i had to text her that she jinxed me!

this morning i got to babysit this little cutie. my 4 year old niece. she let me braid her hair like kaylee's and we went to feed the fish and for a little walk. told my sister she needs to come over some morning so i can do a mini photo shoot with her.

soccer, school + loserville

1. nana and pop pop came to watch kaylee play soccer on saturday. along with my parents and some friends. she finally got into the game and almost scored a goal!

2. pop pop grilled out his famous ribs and steaks while i made crunchy asian salad and bayou baked beans for lunch. carrot cake for dessert from a local bakery.-yum!

3. thanks for the compliments on the new hair do. you wouldn't believe it but it takes some time to do. i have to blow dry it if i want to get it that straight and smooth. my hair holds water like a shamwow!

4. having both kids in school has been a mix of happy, sad, exciting, freeing, lonely and boring. but i am getting use to it!

5. kaylee has been crying since last friday saying she doesn't like it. i think once she gets into routine she will start to like it better. today she said it wasn't so bad.

6. finally got her hello kitty lunch box today. i've been making her peanut butter sandwiches and cutting them into heart and star shapes.

7. sunday mike made his beer and he came downstairs to tell me something when kaylee comes down and says "your beer". like there was something wrong with it.

8. once mike got upstairs to check on it, she says " ha ha made you run upstairs for nothing!"

9. a retired couple bought the house across the street from us. they've told everyone that they had gotten awards at their last house for having the best yard. i smell competition...

10. i do feel like a loser though for not watering my plants nor taking the time to make pretty planters this year.

i am sad. sad i am.

i know its hard to tell but thats me on the right. lucky me! my hair stylist had an opening yesterday so thats what i did to occupy some of my time. wish i had made an appointment for a pedi today. i'm lonely and sad at the same time.

feel like kicking someone in the nads today

our last lunch together as a full time mom + non schooler

1. this morning woke up all good. even found some new-to me blogs.

2. then i took a shower and the tears just poured down.

[yep, thought about school starting tomorrow]

3. then i saw that my favorite blogging dad is now twittering and its just as funny as his blog.

4. there was talk about his blog being turned into a tv show too. and it was mentioned that a white guy should play metro dad. i want to know what racist person came up with that idea so i can kick him in his white nads.

5. this is all coming out because i went into a local boutique in goshen and felt completely out of place.

6. no one greeted me or asked if i needed help finding something. i hate to say it but sometimes i wonder if its because they think i don't know how to speak english. and to top it off, two of the tops i tried on looked like i was trying on kaylee's dresses. it was not pretty!

7. so as revenge, kaylee and i went to have lunch at the olympian candy kitchen and got our grub on. take that you muffin top!

8. getting mike's larry bird autographed jersey framed. i got him the jersey for his 30th birthday. getting it framed for his "happy sports season" gift.

9. thinking that book club is not for me. i'm hosting next week and i am not feeling it!

10. i want to be able to read books for entertainment. not read then have to go back and do "homework".

nap time?

another pair of shoes for the little nugget

1. today we have been on the go searching for gym shoes for the little nugget.

2. finding simple, velcro tennis shoes is not easy. [found some at kohls]

3. then we went grocery shopping. after that we headed over to meet and greet kaylee's teacher. [there are 4 kindergarten classes already, a 5th one might be added by wednesday. thats how big this area is getting]

4. please excuse my whiny saturday post. i wasn't that bored just more liked bummed that i didn't get a girls night out. i treasure those moments where i can be me and not just mom + wife.

5. sunday we met up with mike's parents for lunch at redamaks. yep, another favorite place of mine. after lunch we walked around town some. its the closet thing to a beach life vibe around here.

6. now that school is getting ready to start, i hope to get on a cooking and cleaning schedule.

7. i told mike now that i will have some extra time on my hands maybe i will pull a [sil] terri and work out for 5 hours. he said that would be good.

8. then i said but pulling a peg bundy sounds better.

9. i seriously could use a nap right now. my last two days of sleeping in and i wake up at 6AM!

10. so now i am off to make dinner. lasagna night!
