party favors

hard to believe from my blog but i'm usually the crafty one in my family. many of my party favor ideas have been copied by old friends and sister in laws. for kaylee's big 5th birthday thats coming soon i wanted something extra special.

so this morning while doing my routine blog reading, i found this cute little idea from apartment therapy ohdeedoh. tiny pinatas! how cute are they? fill them up with a small toy + candy. and its not just for birthdays- valentines day, easter, baby shower and even as an advent calendar. {instructions via not martha}

1. last night i slept in the "new" house all by myself. not sure if sleeping is what i would call it. mike + kaylee stayed the night in laporte. he went to his bff's wife's 30th birthday party. i didn't feel like being designated driver to mike.

ham stayed the night at one of his buddies house. i hope ham + mike didn't do anything stupid.

2. i went to luchesses and got myself a pizza. i sat at the bar and had 2 pineapple w/malibu drinks while waiting which i think irritated my allergies to the point of not being able to breathe out of my nose which means i couldn't taste my pizza. i'm starting to wonder why am i putting chemicals into my body when its not working. guess being about to use my nose 50% of the time is better than none at all???

3. found out that my old doctors office added 2 new female doctors and they are taking new patients. had kaylee's records sent over to dr. bontrager and i will see the other new doctor. {its so much closer than my current new doctor}

4. the reasoning behind not seeing the same doctor as kaylee is because i scrap booked with her. i think it would be weird for her to see my girl parts if need be even though i've only met her once. its a hard call because she's super nice.

5. after this post, i will be working on organizing kaylee's toy room. if no one hears from me today, please send help! i will probably be buried under all her toys.

6. from my previous post, i've been wanting to see how stephanie and her husband were doing after their awful plane crash. i wanted to start from the beginning so i went to her sister's blog called c jane enjoy it. so far i've made it to december 2008.

7. while i might not agree with their religion (see #6), i do agree on how they are living their lives. i love how they have tradition, fun, faith,spur of the moment moments and love for each other.

8. i hate that i cant seem to forget and forgive. or is it forgive and forget. one of my many bad personality traits. {in my defense, i think its a learned environment trait. be with good people wants you to be a good person too}

9. i found a really cute halloween costume for kaylee. cant wait to buy it!

10. my car is officially a "normal" car now so we shouldn't have any more problems- knock on wood. ham's caddy has been listed on craigslist.

kaylee's been writing " i {heart} u" for some time now. yesterday she wanted me to show her how to cut paper hearts so i did. she then would write her name or mine and i heart u on them and drop them in a basket to send me secret mail. she's just the sweetest love bug and i totally love her!

since my latest "mean girl" incident last week, i've been working on being a nicer, better person especially to mike and the kids. without intentionally doing so, sometimes when speaking i get short and defensive. growing up, i felt that i had to always defend myself so it became natural. i see the kids are starting to do it too. i want to break that cycle.

and speaking of getting some perspective. this morning i decided to catch up with nie nie dialogues to see how stephanie, her husband and their 4 kids were doing. stephanie and her husband were in an awful plane crash last august leaving stephanie in coma and 80+% of her body burned. she is now able to blog again-sharing her life after the accident. i find her to be a beautiful person and wish i had just even 1% of her bravery, heart, love and unselfishness.

me famous?

i won this polaroid a few months back from the awesomest melanie at you are my fave. she needed it scanned for someone who was doing a project.

so i ran to my local office max since my scanners not working and here's the "project"

a cover for a cd! how rad is that? i think it makes me a little famous for having the original print.

brain dumping thursday

1. it was kaylee's first day of preschool yesterday. i put her in the same class as her buddy from play group so she would have a familiar face making her first real adventure without mama easier. she did really well.

2. she told me all about it as soon as she got in the car and told me she missed me infinity + infinity. {i just love her!}

3. i felt a little lost yesterday after dropping her off. i have so much i want to get done {painting the kitchen, sewing, painting, organizing the toy room and my crafting room} but didn't know where to start. guess that's where my list making comes in handy.

4. compared height and weight between my two rug rats the other night which was interesting. they were super close with each other till 15 months. kaylee took over weighing 2.1 lbs more than ham and she was 1/2" taller. {at birth, kaylee was 1.1 lbs heavier but 1" shorter than ham}

5. mike's still a butthead.

6. ham has a cold again. hope its not a sign of whats coming for the winter months.

7. i'm loving the weather we're having. wish it was this way year round.

8. rover's in the shop. getting the rear end suspension fixed so it will run like a regular car and not like the off roading vehicle its suppose to be which makes me a little sad. *sniff*

9. guess that means its house cleaning day.

10. yeah me! my favorite things swap partner loves her goodies. she finally go them last week.

i am not a collector but i would love to collect of these. i love the driver in the car and his googles. so cute + fun!{via playsam}
