rambling tuesday

i spent a good portion of my day looking and reading on-line the pros and cons of a point and shoot camera yesterday. for those times when i don't feel like carrying the big dog around but wish i had a camera with me. after much debating and deciding that every camera has pros and cons i convinced mike {wasn't really that hard to do} to go to best buy with me and got this one last night. still haven't tried it out but it looks promising. i had a newer model in mind but seeing the price difference of about 100 bucks, i went for the cheaper one.

i also got this movie.
i've been wanting to watch it for some time now and none of our local stores had in stock and i missed it when it played on tv a few weeks ago. i love tea leoni. have you seen her six pack abs in this movie? i want abs like hers. she was also great in fun with dick and jane with jim carrey and family man with nicholas cage. she's in another movie coming out but i cant remember the name of it.
and i have nothing new about the house selling. there hasn't been any interest since lowering the price. we do have an open house set up for this sunday. fingers crossed, positive thinking and good karma happening. we are going to look at a house tomorrow night. with house prices dropping, its silly not to keep that option opened too.

best medicine

saturday i went to a baby shower for a friend's daughter. i've known the family since i was the the sweet age of sixteen. my friend and her husband was my boss for one of my summer jobs till i went to college. {i was their favorite employee} and we have kept in touch all these years. she and her niece came down and partied with me at ball state my freshman year. they came to my first wedding and they got to see me become a mother for the first time. they even saw me through my divorce too. after that, we didn't keep in touch as much as we all know life happens but i knew where they lived so i would stop by once in awhile to see how they were doing. they are the sweetest people i know. the baby shower was a great time. i won the poopy diaper contest- hey, i know my chocolates! {you have to guess what kind of candy bar is in the diaper, its all melted and gross looking} and my friend won the suck the baby bottle contest. that was a sight you had to see in person. after the baby shower, my friend and 3 of her sisters and i went and saw this movie.

i read this book a few years ago and forgot what happens in it. bring tissues, i got a little misty eyed. nothing new from a nicholas sparks book. after the movie we went and got a bite to eat then headed over to the parentals restaurant and had some drinks. i had the best time! i laughed so hard that my cheeks and stomach ached. i hope to do it again soon.

looking

i use to be one of those people who believed things happened for a reason. karma. what goes around comes around etc... i lost that feeling, that belief, somewhere along my journey through life and i've decided that i want it back!!

proud mama

this was suppose to be a nice profile picture of ham. i loved the lighting and thought this would be perfect, wouldn't get too much detail of his face, just a nice profile but obviously ham doesn't share my vision. he gave me his usual pose once he saw what i was doing. i still love the picture and i like his hand by his knee. very elegant fingers but don't tell him i said that. we got his school pictures back yesterday and they are going back to them. he looks constipated and the background is purple instead of grey. he doesn't want to take time out of his classes for re-picture day which i totally understand plus i want to take his picture instead. he agreed but only if they are taken inside the house. heaven forbid anyone sees him getting his picture taken outside let alone by his *gasp* mom of all people!

we went to parent teacher conference last night and got the report we knew we would be getting. all of his teachers love having him in their class and he's doing well with everything. he's getting (4) A's and (1) B+. he's got a heavy course load too and he's also in the honors program. chemistry, algebraII (honors), us history (honors) and two engineering/architecture courses. i really couldn't be more proud.

heaven

if i had the resources and the knowledge and family members who would not turn this place into a pigs pen this is how i would love to decorate the new house. you can take a look at the rest of the house here. the bathroom, heck, the whole house is to die for. {via simple song + design sponge}
**edited: found this little interview with the homeowner and where + what she bought to decorate her place with.

she LOVES her daddy

*natural images by terry
this is kaylee at 6 months. isn't this photo of her the sweetest? last night she asked her daddy if he had to go to work tomorrow. {she's been asking this a lot lately} he said yes. and she asked why. he said because he needs to make money. and i pitched in ~that is how we buy you your dora purse and ice cream. she then goes over to her new dora purse and gets the dollar that i gave her and gives it to her daddy and says, now you don't need to go to work tomorrow.

land

yesterday most of my day was spent waiting by the phone. needed some information about how to buy the land and all the other important things that goes along with it. if you haven't guessed by now, mike and i know nothing, nada, zelch about this land buying, house selling, house buying, loan getting, taking over our life area. all that we do know is that we did not want this piece of property to slip through our fingers again. friday i went to the owners house and hand delivered a retainer check. just waiting to see how long the retainer check will retain. hopefully the land owner will feel generous and will wait till we sell our house, i already know he can if he really wanted too.

and i know i said before that i wasn't liking this lot as much as lot #1 but i think i am liking it more. it seems bigger though both are less than an acre. all this land talk and house building got me kinda down so i had to go to therapy last night after dinner. thats retail therapy. i had no intentions of purchasing anything really. kinda low on funds with money going towards the land but i did end up spending some dough on some candles and candlesticks for the fireplace mantel. i want this place to spit shine and be all purdy for when open house day comes.
