1. when i'm on my computer in the craft room, this is where i will find him, at the window next to me.

2. he's looking towards his girlfriends house.

3. and most of the windows in our house are his height. it was meant to be.

4. ham went back to his apartment tonight. we will see him saturday but it still makes me a little sad. i want my family all home and safe.

5. plus, his buddies are taking him out tomorrow night to celebrate his 21st birthday. he turned 21 three days into the new year. [makes this mama worry]

6. tuesday i went and ran some errands and bought groceries.

7. wednesday i had to go back to mike's work health center for lab results. i'm low on iron. then we had a lunch date at his cafeteria then i went to ikea.

8. i found a fig plant i've been wanting at ikea for $12.99. dirt cheap in my mind.

9. since mike made fun of me last night after i told him i was going to the woodlands to take back the jacket i bought ham i stayed in today. [ham likes the jacket but wanted a different color which they don't have and mike said thats all i do is go shopping]

10. so this morning was a little boring but by 1pm it got to be okay. it was rainy which means its good napping weather which is what i did.

a new favorite saying

i made this using one of my photos from mackinaw island taken this summer and added that saying from a website i stumbled upon last night reading their faq's.

i think its brilliant and oh so true! i use to have my mind mastered but now, not so much.  i need to get back to mastering it. i think thats where determination, will power and the drive to do something is. all the things i'm lacking.

happy new year!!!

some exciting things to end the new year, not in order because that would require too much thinking on my end:

1. made turkey and ham for christmas dinner only to underestimate how long it would take reheat fully cooked meat. turns out it takes 3+ hours so we ate the sides for dinner.

2. my parents came to visit for a few days after christmas.

3. and we stayed up to ring in the new year twice. [indiana, who is an hour ahead of us and texas]

4. my parents got to experience all the fireworks before, during and after we rang in the new year.

5. the kids seem to like their christmas gifts this year. a win for santamom.

6. mike and kaylee went ice skating. i did not because i can barely walk on flat ground.

7. went to galveston to shop and see the beach and eat at bubba gumps.

8. watched old videos. we had forgotten how cute kaylee's baby laugh was and how ham sounded before his voice changed.

9. and mike got to see and hear his grandma. [hard to believe she passed away 3 years ago???]

10. i got mad at mike only once and it was only the 2nd day into the new year.

mean parents

1. this was taken probably 3 years ago. i never wanted to be one of those mom's who dress alike but she asked me too so i did. [though i was embarrassed because i like being my own person]

2. things are starting to slow down now.

3. kaylee's birthday party was a big hit- more on that later.

4. christmas presents to my in-laws and my side of the family have been mailed.

5. hopefully i can get to the christmas cards.

6. and ham's the only one left to buy for and i pretty know what to get him so everything is pretty much done.

7. i had to inform the kids *cough* ham*  that there will be no negative comments about christmas gifts this year like " instead of wasting your money on toothbrushes and chocolates, you should of just given me the cash instead."

8. i think ham might be more excited about christmas this year than kaylee. everyday he's asked to open a present.

9. mike said if they're good, they can open one this weekend. i told them i get to pick it out.

10. how disappointed are they going to be when they open an ornament! [yeah, we're mean like that]

recap of last week with photos

 adding to my small collection. found 2 gingerbread houses -thanks qvc! [who knew those candle holders from bath and body works would be collector items?]

 the boys are always the naughty ones. [kaylee's birthday present]

 we got invited to do a personal tour of minute maid park. they wanted to sell us season tickets but thats for 81 games- there's no way we would go to 81 games!

 ollie is ALWAYS naughty! and always cute!

 mike's christmas party. this is my outfit change. i had anthropologie hold it for me and it fit, a little snug on the waist but i made it happen. i also walked out the women's room with half my skirt stuck in my pantyhose. thankfully, not many saw and a nice lady told me before i started walking.

 yum! ghiradelli hot chocolate with whip and these pretzels. [the mint ones are my favorite]

 i have a friend! who went to buc-ee's gas station with me so i could buy my nephew a funny t-shirt

 we decorated the tree w/out ham but we left him his ornaments to put up

my first outfit for the christmas party. thought it wasn't quirky enough to go with mike's bowtie.

1. i found this on photo booth. she's not going to be happy when i show this to her future boyfriend.

2. i told you she has big nostrils. she's very proud of them.

3. did i mention that we went up to the woodlands on friday? yup, ham wanted to return his laptop, again, to get the one he first had. i knew it when he said the mac air didn't have the retina display.

4. it wasn't too busy with black friday being almost over and we got to eat pf changs for dinner.

5. i finally decided to make a hair appointment and got to spend 2.5 hours at the salon.

6. i got partial color and partial highlights w/a haircut. it looks gorgeous! and makes me want to do my hair. [till tomorrow morning and it doesn't turn out as nice]

7. of course, while getting my hair done, mike texts me about 6 times and calls about 3 times. something he never does on a normal basis. just when i want to relax while getting my hair done.

8. he called the electric company and got them to come out and actually fix our problem that we've had since september. [it ended up being the transformer]

9. i think its been a problem ever since we moved in and from what our neighbors were saying, long before but never knew who to call. [it just finally got bad enough for us to call- again]

10. when i turned off the water in the shower sunday, the shock was more powerful than ever and its taking my dryer longer to dry clothes.  one neighbor said they've replaced 2 washer and dryers and a fridge while another neighbor replaced a dryer and their a/c unit caught on fire all due to this problem i'm sure.

1. we had a great week off of school. kinda makes me wish i homeschooled.

2. we went over to our neighbor/friend's house again for thanksgiving. i made jalapeño stuffed peppers, healthy green beans, gingerbread cookies, pumpkin bars and pecan toffee mini bites. oh yeah- and hippie juice.

3. our neighbor/friends had just gotten a shuffleboard and we've been wanting one ever since we moved here but they were always too long and too expensive. 

4. once we heard they got it at costco's, mike and i went the next day to pick one up. costco has great customer service btw.

5. saturday, we decided to get mike a new 65" smart tv since his 68" is showing white dots. we're going to fix it and put it in the family room.

6. ham went back to college station on saturday which made us all sad.

7. sunday we went and got ham a weight bench. [he just texted me saying he wants a new weight bench. man, i am good]

8. oh, i also lost my debit card last wednesday. i called to cancel it on friday.  before i went to the bank today to get a new one, i found the old one. typical.

9. i'm almost done with birthday party planning and christmas shopping. 

10. i'm also trying not to eat as much because we have a christmas party to go on saturday and i would like to fit into something. of course, i'm drooling for a cheeseburger right now.
