1. a plane ticket has been bought so ham leaves tonight for chicago to intern with his uncle for a month and a half.

2. after kaylee got home from school, we all went to the mall to get ham a few "dressy" shirts.

3. we got to see a rainbow before eating dinner at hasta la pasta.

4. then ham started packing his suitcase.

5. then i got sad. [trying to get it all out before he leaves]

6. i know he's 19 but he's always been by my side for those 19 years.

7. i know that this is good for him. and me. since he will be leaving for college anyway.

8. but college is only a few hours away not in a different state.

9. i think kaylee's going to miss him a lot too.

10. just not looking forward to the house feeling so empty.

1. mike taught kaylee how to swim freestyle like a pro.

2. don't worry, i threw away that swim soup and got her another one from lands end.  so far i think they make the best swim suits. the one i got her last summer is still holding up.

3. friday went out to dinner with a co-worker of mike's though he works and lives in wyoming now. 

4. they stayed out till 3AM! i had to go and pick them up because i guess the cabs around here don't do 3 AM.

5. saturday was a do nothing day since mike had a hang-over.

6. and mother's day was almost the same though they did make me breakfast and mike did do the dishes.

7. ham's leaving tomorrow for chicago for a month. i hope its a positive learning experience for him.

8. wednesday the cement guys are coming out to start working on our backyard.

9. i forgot that i won't be taking a birthday cruise next year, i've got a trip to scotland in the works. [fingers crossed]

10. then reality strikes- ham is going to college. we all might be living off ramen noodles for the next 4 years!

kemah boardwalk

kemah boardwalk [sunday]

1. we heard great things about kemah boardwalk so we decided to take a look on sunday.  

2. on the way there, speedy gonzales got a ticket. [i linked it in case you don't know who speedy gonzales is- he's old school]

3. the place was pretty cool with its marina, shops, restaurants and small amusement park.

4. it would of been perfect if there was a beach. 

5. we walked around then ate lunch.

6. then kaylee and i did some shopping while mike drank a margarita.

7. then kaylee and i split a funnel cake for dessert.

8. and then she got these cool princess sunglasses.

9. she wanted to go to the beach but it was kinda late so we went home to use the pool.

10. perfect timing too because the sun decided to come out then. [i don't think we saw all of kemah so we definitely plan on going back]

very random things

somewhere; gulf of mexico

1. yesterday while  cleaning the house, i missed my friends back in indiana.

2. i'm loving toasted walnuts. who knew toasting them would make them better? especially in yogurt.

3. ham compared living with us to a prison because he hasn't gotten paid for cleaning out the pool. 

4. poor ollie. he had to get shaved because his hair was all matted. it took his girlfriend some time to realize it was him!

5. kaylee's been telling me about some problems she's having with some girls in her class and i'm not sure what the right answers are. [they not following the rules they had made up at recess, etc...]

6. we finally got ham a bike for his graduation present.

7. still waiting for uncle burk to tell us when ham can come out to chicago to "intern".

8. while watching dear john last night, i decided i am a beach girl. [not to be confused with that other word, though, my sister did call me that a few times while on my birthday cruise]

9. i made the best chocolate chip cookies before leaving for the cruise. i mixed and baked those babies in half an hour. 

10. ghirardelli knows chocolate chip cookies and brownies!

Birthday Cruise

1. my birthday cruise was fun but my company could have been better.

2. my company slept, read and gambled most of the time. [found out she really didn't want to come and i "forced" her into it]

3. i walked, ate, shopped and tanned. gambled some too but not as much as my sister.

4. she would take a break from gambling or sleeping so we could meet up for fancy dinner and eat warm chocolate melting cake.

5. while tanning i decided that i'm going to do a birthday cruise from now on. [mike said " yeah, right".  Till i reminded him of his many football trips]

6. though next time someone else is invited.

7. in progresso they dropped us off at a make shift market where everyone would give you "their best deals" but then around the corner was the beach and your more tourist-y  shops and resturants.

8. in cozumel there were more shops and restaurants. it was a bit more modern too.

9. i wanted to do an excursion in cozumel but felt my sister didn't want to then she got mad at me for not sharing my spinach and artichoke dip the night before so i was left by myself and wished i had signed up for an excursion anyway.

10. overall i still had a great time and got to meet some nice people.
