decorating

the christmas tree went up last night even though i wasn't in a festive, lets decorate the tree mood. i was in the middle of watching ps. i love you- (cute movie) and husbands are sooo over rated and very annoying. that's all i'm going to say about that. kaylee, the cute little nugget that she is, started to place all the ornaments in one area- notice the 3rd photo. and she decorated the tree with the stars but placed them all on the floor which made for a great christmas image i think. we even got ham on some of the action (for about 5 minutes) and no he didn't volunteer to put his arm around me, i had to place it there but at least he didn't move it away. it makes me SO sad to see him taller than me. not that he's taller but what it represents~that he's grown up. totally hating it! and while these are straight out of the camera, i wish i had photoshop that would make me look skinnier. i don't feel like i'm that 'thick" as seen in the photos but i guess +unfortunately photos do not lie.

i know i said that i wasn't going to talk any more about the house situation but i lied. we did get an offer. whoo hoo. but it was really low. boo-hoo. i mean really low. so we counter offered twice and its back on her at the moment. i think she has till tomorrow to decide. its a hard numbers game to play really especially since this has been our only offer. she doesn't want to close till february either. which kinda sucks for us. if we decide to build, we might have to find a place for 2-3 months. not looking forward to moving "twice".
and here's more on our current house: stairs to the upper level, the hallway seen from the landing, kaylee's room off to the left. two views of kaylee's room.

house update

i know, i know. no more freakin' house updates! this will be it for awhile, at least till we get some good news like ours sold and we're moving. then you will get to hear all about that- ha! anyway, we have someone new coming to see ours on sunday. monday or tuesday evening we will be seeing the 5000 square foot house, well, because we cant be the price. and we will be seeing this one. nice view of the pool huh?
we tease ham that he's never going to move out because he's got it made here. he will move out now- just to the pool house. its got a bedroom in it and probably a small kitchen i'm sure. and we 're still waiting for the numbers on a new floor plan. found some land that this house will look perfect on. we would build something similar to it. its smaller, around 1600 square foot but once the basement is finished that will add another 1000 sq. foot of living space to the house.
i love looking into other peoples houses so i thought i would show you mine. this is what you see when you walk right in from the front door. to the right is "living room" and to the left is a hallway which holds the chill/toy room, master bedroom and main level bath. the hardwood floors are original to the house which was built back in 1955. it was pretty tiny and you will see what i mean when i post the rest of the rooms some other time. {i would love to leave most things behind and start new, we will see}

loving

if i had a christmas list these would be on it:
found in her etsy shop: made by girl the alphabet one would be cute in kaylee's room. this would look great in our new house. introduced by made by girl and can be found/purchased on isabelle norman's website.
and i love all of these from oeuf which was first introduced to me by suann at simple song. i really could of used those mittens today. it was cold outside.

everyone wants a piece of us now

while gorging myself in jujubes and wallowing in self sorrow and a few bottles, i mean glasses of wine last night i have come to terms with us not getting our dream house aka the money pit. thanks for the encouragements and words of wisdom on the comments. positive vibes must be flowing my way for today a strange turn of events has happened. while running errands this morning, i was thinking what house do i love that's still available when the team construction house came to mind. its got a kick ass pantry and killer master shower plus it will be brand new and built just the way i want it. too bad that both lots that we wanted are no longer available. so after running errands and getting high maintenced kaylee settled with her babysitter aka the tv, i got on-line and started to look at team constructions website to see if they had any houses or lots for sale near our current area. while thinking that chris at team construction doesn't like us because he never called us with the "guarantee offer" that he had mentioned back in late august (?) i get a phone call. what are the odds that its chris from team construction wanting to offer us that "guarantee sale" that he had mentioned back in august??? a guarantee sale is pretty much we get to stay in our current house until it either sells or the new house is finished. if our current house isn't sold when the new house is finished, he will buy it for said price. we won't lose any money so its pretty much a win win situation for us. that's the one i want to do!! and there are a few lots that could work for us. and tonight while cleaning the house i got a knock on the door. its the homeowner to the cottage grove house. the one that we looked at twice before deciding that we still want to keep our options open. (+waiting to sell our house) she wanted to tell us that its still available if were interested, just not through a realtor. it seems everyone knew we found out yesterday that we weren't getting our dream home and now everyone wants a piece of us. and to show you all how crazy the market is right now. i want to go and see this house its 5000 square foot and its 10 grand less than building a new one that's only 2000 square foot and it costs the same as the cottage grove house. (they both need some remodeling work to make it our own but still the 5000 sq foot house is a deal!) we don't need a 5000 sq. foot house .

just found out

our 2nd dream house aka the money pit is close to being sold. they close on the 17th. i am sitting in a puddle of tears right now. and just our luck~ we might actually get an offer from the 3rd showing people but now we have no place to go.

december already?

two days into december already and i feel like i'm falling behind. still have christmas shopping to finish, apron to sew, birthday party(s) to plan, menus to be menued and groceries to be bought- besides house needing to be cleaned, again. no news on the house. we did get another showing on friday but heard they found another house in a different area they like better. boo! we're counting on the 3rd showing people to make an offer. if we dont get one, i will cry. like a baby. again.
kaylee and i spent the day in shipshewana yesterday. its amish country thats about half an hour away. got to admire the way they chose to live. very simple and unmaterialistic. had to check out my favorite store up there and got a few things to decorate the house with. ya know- helping the local stores out. ate lunch, found fabric to make mom's apron, shopped a little more and got kaylee the cute cowgirl hat. we ended our day with a few rides on the merry go round. kaylee would say "ya hoo" while riding. i ended up dizzy and with a headache. later that night while watching jon+kate plus 8, kaylee turns to me and says " i had a lot of fun today" and gives me a gigantic hug. totally made my headache go away.
